Background:
I purchased two of these stands, one for a 38mm Apple Watch Sport (1st Gen), and a 42mm Apple Watch Sport (1st Gen). Both watches fit on there great. One is for my wife, and one was for me. I've used this for months now and haven't had any issues at all.
Function:
It holds the charger in there pretty good, with a rubberized surface. The whole unit itself isn't very heavy, but stands up just fine with the help of some rubberized feet, which you can see in the photos I've uploaded. Overall, it hasn't fallen off my nightstand and really does the trick just fine for me.
Looks:
The finish of the unit looks exactly like the Macbook Pro aluminum finish. It will fit in well if you've got a suite of other apple products, it will fit right in and look OEM even.
Pros: Looks like OEM Apple, so it fits in with your other apple products, holds the charger in quite tight with the help of the rubberized, recessed area, has rubber feet so it won't slip off your nightstand or table, sturdy enough base that it doesn't fall over easily.
Cons: None really
As mentioned, this is exactly what I was looking for. It's cheap but well-built, pretty much all of it is aluminum, or similar. While it's not OEM, I'd call it OEM quality. Small, sturdy, lightweight, functional, nearly perfect. 5 stars.
Using the Apple watch stand to charge my watch is helpful. Before I got my stand my watch was always falling, I hit the cord and the next thing you know my watch was on the floor. Now it is so easy to put my watch on the stand and it stays in one place. Great buy.
I have a large chunky band that is a pain to charge through. This stand has a thin enough rest that I can easily slide my watch on it between the watch face and the band. I put photos so you can see what the heck I'm talking about, lol.
This is a simply designed device with excellent function. It keeps my Apple watch charger easy to locate and I like having the watch easy to grab and go in the am. I do not keep my watch at my bedside so there is no necessity for me to be able to view the watch face while charging.

Bought it 3 years ago and still works no problem
Perfect fit and keeps my pricey watch safe, I never forget to charge it this way. Only complaint is the ways the excess cord fits, little akward. So I rubber and it and slid it in the base

I LOVE IT. This little stand is perfect for the Apple Watch 2. It took about half a minute to set up, and it holds the watch in one place and charges it at the same time. It's fabulous. It does take your charger that comes with the watch to make it work.
needed it because i bought a metal one piece band with butterfly clasp so my watch could no longer be laid flat. perfect. sturdy and hold the magnetic piece securely. feel, and looks, like a quality piece.
