While I noticed the price of this particular device increased $6.02, bringing it to $250.02, I decided to try it anyway. The price hike caused me not to purchase the Assurant protection plan. I'm thinking it increased because I kept looking at it? However, I purchased the Cassida Quattro because a previous device had technical issues, causing me to distrust its' abilities and accuracy. The Cassida Quattro does exactly what it is suppose to straight out of the box. I also appreciate that it tells me if the bill passes or fails, all in a split second or two. I tested a fake bill with President Obamas Face on it (His Second Presidential Terms' Photo), and this thing went crazy, red alert flashing "Failed" with a series of beeps, and it spits it right back at you. I must say I'm pretty darn happy, and no more counterfeit bills taking down my bottom line.
Using in a liquor store as a result of a fake receive and accepted by an employee prior. It is very fast and has optional bill direction (front or back bill exit once scanned). I like the bills to come back to me for convenience. I ran bills and plain paper through it and it worked correctly. The screen has simple PASS or FAIL(blinking screen) messaging. Comes with DC plug and rechargeable battery supply, which is a great option. Best part is a monkey can use this, should you have a monkey using it or the like! Time will tell how well it does, but so far, so good!
Very good counterfeit detection, but fails sometimes to verify a genuine bill as authentic, which why you have to reinsert the same bill several times. Negative is that there is no consistency in FAILed bills, but until now once it has PASSed no inaccurate counterfeit detection either. Despite some issues with recurring tests, I believe it is the most reliable one for this price available on the market. Four way direction works good too!
I also like the guaranteed protection: Cassida is so confident in the Quattro's ability to detect counterfeit bills that they will reimburse the face value of any counterfeit bill passed as genuine.
I was interested in knowing what 4 way meant when I was looking for a detector, I see that the description says you can put it in any orientation, but I didn't know why it was special. I called the manufacturer and spoke to someone in technical, she told me that "every detector unless it is 4 way, will FAIL genuine/real currency every single time unless you put it in 1 exact direction and orientation", which makes me worry that my front counter staff could reject someone's currency and ruin their day if they don't remember or get the orientation right. So we got 2 of the Quattro's, and they work well in every direction.
Have very little issue with this, I would say that every now and then when it starts to fail good bills to just open it and clean the sensors.

It works very well. We've run hundreds of bills through it and have had no problems. We use it for every $100 and $50 and sometimes $20 depending what it feels like.
Fast, accurate and can identify counterfeit bills instantly. The battery lasts for quite a long time. I still have yet to charge it.
