I just received the NEW ORIGINAL FORMULA and THEY ARE EXACTLY LIKE THE ORIGINAL. They're back: shorter, softer, and more comfortable than the bulbous version that came out. I've uploaded photos showing the original package with the original ear plug, and the new "Original Formula Xtreme Protection". They are identical. They feel identical. In the photos are also two other popular brands. They were a good alternative (just a little too long, and not as quiet), until I found out that Hearos was coming back with my favorite. I love these earplugs; my husband snores and makes all kinds of cringe-worthy noises in his sleep so I've been wearing these for years, and sleep like a baby. I can still hear other sounds such as my alarm clock and if there is a sound that is unusual, I will definitely pick it up even while wearing these, but they at least drown out the sounds that otherwise keep me awake.
I live in a condo and I bought this because my neighbors upstairs devolved into noisy apes that stomps and drag furniture from 6am to 3am every day. Couldn't get a decent sleep for months. Talking to my neighbors nicely like how most sites suggested didn't help. In fact, they denied everything and have gotten worse! This whole thing is starting to sound like "Planet of the Apes"....

For improvements, I think it would be best to upgrade the packaging. Like judging a book, people will judge a product based on its packaging. The paper box feels low in quality. Maybe HEAROS can consider going for a more ergonomic re-sealable packing in the future.
When properly inserted, these work astoundingly well. If anything, you might consider whether you actually want to block this much sound if there are mid-level noises you need to hear. I'm opting for sound sleep and taking my chances with home invaders.
Each pair lasts me about a week before it becomes more difficult or impossible to insert them correctly. Not that you can't continue to use them, but the noise reduction will be a bit less. In any case this box holds at least two years' worth for me, so it's a bargain.
I ordered these ear plugs to block out snoring. After several years sleeping next to a heard of chainsaws, I finally found some plugs that work!! I love the softness of these earplugs. That's a HUGE plus. Other plugs I have tried were hard or too soft and either way they would fall out. Hearos are my heroes! Lol.. These are the old-style HEAROS, the one that work! I don't know what went into HEAROS executives mind when they've changed the product to a sub-standard, but it's good they've come to their senses and brought back the original ear-plugs. The only problem is knowing which ones are old-style (good) and which ones are new-style-soon-to-be-deprecated (bad).
I got these to help me sleep while traveling with a friend who snores at jet engine decibels. I'm very sensitive to sound, and while these didn't block the noise 100%, they minimized it enough that I was actually able to drift off and sleep through the night. I'd say they took the snoring down to about a 2 from an 11. They were soft and comfortable besides, and worked with my smallish ear canals. Really pleased.
These are the only earplugs that work for me. I use them for sleeping due to annoying and inconsiderate noisy upstairs neighbors stomping around on hardwood floors and slamming their front door. They block out sound quite well, but my left ear hurts if the plug is not inserted correctly. After long time use both ears sometimes feel sore from the plugs being used every night. They are quite fat ear plugs, so when they expand they feel a bit tight and irritate your skin over time. Slimmer plugs are more comfortable, but don't block out enough sound - nothing is perfect.
