Field Journal (Black/Seafoam)

Field Journal (Black/Seafoam)

Great product, this is the second item I've purchased from Bond Travel. While this item does come with several slips and pockets it's not designed to be loaded down with gear. It does not have a slip for a pen but does have ample areas to place various kinds of pens. The included A5 notebook is top notch and, arguably, worth the cost of the whole setup alone. It's built very well. I can tell it will withstand any travel. If you are looking for something that is built well and doesn't take up a lot of space while giving you the ability to include some of your more compact essentials while ALSO looking sleek...this is your notebook and cover.

This journal is exactly what I was looking for. I was tired of looking for FP friendly notebooks and finding they had 80 sheets of subpar paper. I won’t even touch Rhodia anymore after using Tomoe River to write my letters.

Now I have a nice sized journal to keep all my ink/pen tests and thoughts in. The case also holds my stamps, address book, and six pens that I EDC.

I have highly recommended this journal to my pen pals as well as the community in r/fountainpens.

I look forward to the lined version when it comes, as I will be buying that as well. For the price, why wouldn’t you buy it?

The zipper broke the second time I used it. The notebook itself, however, is of very good quality, very fountain pen friendly, and worth the price. Update: Upon contacting Bond Travel Gear Customer service department about the zipper, they have agreed to send me a new one. I was very pleased with the service and friendly way this was handled. I will most definitely buy this product again!

Quality of the cover and journal are outstanding but if theres one thing I would add is a pen loop to secure your writing utensil of choice inside. Also, with the journal included, I find it does become a little tight when trying to zip it up with a pen, but I've been using my Leuchtturm1917 which is slightly smaller and it fits perfectly! Overall still an awesome cover.

Really impressed with the quality, both in the nylon shell and the notebook itself. The paper is straight up luxurious. I'm super satisfied and looking at their other products.

Description

The perfect planner, journal, sketchbook. The Field Journal consists of our rugged nylon zippered case and an A5 hardcover notebook. The notebook features fountain pen friendly Tomoe River 68 gsm white paper.

Does what it says. Interior pockets are handy for pocket journals, a few pens, cards. While one product photo shows a Kindle reader in the left sleeve, note that it will NOT fit a Kindle Fire HD 7". (You can put a 7" Fire inside on top of your journal and zip it closed, barely, but it won't fit in the sleeve.)

One minor down-side is that because the zipper starts at the bottom, if you use a journal with a bookmark ribbon (like Leuchtturm), you have to tuck the ribbon out of the way to avoid snagging it in the zipper.

I like this sturdy, well-built cover which holds any A5 notebook. It also has other pockets to hold things, plus a handle to carry it around. It comes with one of there excellent A5 notebooks. The cover comes with a notebook and price wise its a better buy to purchase the cover with the notebook than to buy the notebook separately

Very nice case. If you want to store 5 or 6 pens in the case along with the notebook you are out of luck.
However, one pen will fit.
Now for the star of the show:
The notebook is 'incredible'. As far as I know you cannot buy a better quality notebook anywhere, at any price.
Nuff said.

Love the paper. Would like it lined but not a deal breaker. Fountain pen does not bleed through or ghost even though the paper feels thin. Enjoy the Whiteness of the paper but it does seem the ink takes a bit longer to dry. Would reccomend a blotter sheet which could also be used as a bookmark. Case is perfect, does as it is intended (it's not a brief case). Would highly recommend this product and look forward to trying some other products of theirs.

The cover has become a daily carry. My only complaint is that the hard cover notebook leaves no room to put anything in the inside pockets, so I have a soft cover Breeze notebook instead. The notebook that comes with it is excellent, but I use it separately from the cover.
