Kindle Fires tend to have loose power sockets, which wear out to be worse. This means that trying to keep them charged, particularly while using them, often leads to the cords falling out of the socket. Furthermore, "normal" straight cables seem to have unreliable contact.
I figured that the angled plug would apply the force from the side rather than straight out of the socket and would reduce the occurrences of unplugged cords. They did. Moreover, they seem to be a bit bigger than "normal" plugs, and fit snugly and securely into the Fire loose sockets. Furthermore the cord heads toward the hinge of the cover, and is small enough and flexible enough to lay along the inside of the hinge while reading. The provides a VERY secure attachment while using the Fire, and keeps the cord out of the way as well.
The only thing which is not perfect about these cables is that the Fire keeps claiming it is on a "low power charger". I did not notice this before from the same USB power source. I don't know whether this is due to the power source, the cable or the Fire, but it is not enough of a concern to me to entice experimentation.
LOVE these! I killed my last phone by always trying to put the USB cord in upside down. Now I know which way to put it. Especially good for people with vision issues. Just wish they would make a right sides one in addition to the left sided one. My kindle takes left, phone right.
My wife is hard on cords. I watched her use her device while charging and she rests on the cord which the nature of any cord cannot handle. I purchased the 90 degree angle to allow her normal use but avoid cord stress. Now her phone is resting on the hard plastic angle and does not put stress on the cord. Her cords now last 6-9 months rather than 2 weeks.

Great cord.
The delivery was very quick. The cords are perfect lengths. Because of the 90 degree angle, the cord is nice and snug when plugged into the phone so there is no movement.
These worked great with my phone. Compatible and my phone does not tell me to use the charger that came with the device. It also allows me to use the phone more effectively in bed and on the couch.
