I do a ton of coloring due to the job that I have requires a ton of waiting on a guest to enter our stores, it can be very stressful as we are commission based, I have learned to use the time wisely. coloring with these pens and the quality 20 or so books that I have purchased make for a 12 or 15 hour day to pass quite quickly without any Issues. They do not bleed thru the paper but the gel releases for the most part super smoothly for coloring and shading. I totally recommend these to beginners, intermediate and professional artists or just the ever day color fanatic as I am!! Happy coloring!!
Awesome selection, vibrant colors
Unfortunately the unit came with colors smeared everywhere inside from leaking pens! Box it came in wasn't damaged or dented, just looks like someone slapped a couple hands full of gel pens in. Lids sort of on, but I cannot imagine how anyone could have missed the lack of quality- let alone useability. I actually have them sitting in storage because I'm afraid to donate them to kids for safety issues. Real shame. Was really hoping for some basic quality.
UPDATE: Without any prompting from me, company contacted (via Amazon provided email). To- Now sit down for this part -to APOLOGIZE & ask if there was anything they could do to make me happy, based on my negative review. Took them 3 tries; as I ignored the first two (figuring if the junk they sent was indicative of their quality then what's the point except to warn others). Well, no ridiculous proof needed for them to believe me, no "return them, buy a new set, THEN get refund on bad set once they receive it & I'm out another order and shipping amount" game. Nope. They went above and behind, offered to simply send a replacement set. No new shipping, no games. What I received was a completely different animal. All quality, no leaks, great colors, no missing, broken or inside leaks in canister. So I now must amend to a 5! Giving the benefit of the doubt that this IS what is sent to all orders. Just know the container is flimsy, not used for regular storage; (which I had hoped for because it shows all easily grabbable pens and would be both terrific storage and useful for when using pens). Because of their follow up & persistence I have amended to a 5, where it likely is a 4 because first one did after all, get sent & meh storage. Prefer container not meant as storage to be mentioned in description. I'd have still purchased knowing that and been happy. But again, I had not complained, (& this wasn't like it was hundreds of dollars being spent with them; just a regular mid range first purchase with them, hundreds with Amazon & their other vendors), a vendor noticed and CARED. How often can a customer say that nowadays?! The pens are gorgeous, few meh colors, mostly perfect. Only a few skips but I feel that may be due to my being left handed - so far nothing colors my hand as I'm working with them either. Big plus! This company defines great people.Very happily surprised with renewed faith that decent companies (that don't make a new customer jump through hoops to be believed and more than satisfied) do exist. I'd buy from them again for this product: for the customer service personnel, final product beyond expectations especially given the night and day difference from the original set received. Replacement received was timely with no extra shipping charges. Hopefully the QA person was fired, & that this set is now the actual correct product for all, not just sent for poor reviews. The first set sent seems almost like a bad joke.

These are fine point paint pens, so they work a bit differently than those I have used in the past.
You do need to push down on the tip to get the ink flowing. I needed to do this every few minutes to keep it going.
The colors are lovely and vibrant, paint is smooth and doesn't skip. You can achieve very fine lines.
A great value for the money. I tested each one--all of them wrote properly. There is quite a variety; for just about every pure color there is a similar glitter/metalic color. These gel pens do not smear more than others I have used, though sometimes getting a smear effect can be desirable. Looking at all the transparent barrels, the amount of ink seems to be fairly ample. One must remember that gel pens are different from ballpoints and the cap must be kept on at all times. For one thing, the gel can dry out. Another, which I learned the hard way, was never to store a gel pen uncapped with the pen pointing downward. I left my jade gel pen, cap off, point down in a nice circular leather holder the bottom of which was lined with beige felt...no more beige--it is now jade. Not a bad color, but I lost most of my gel ink by the time I discovered my mistake. Lesson: keep the caps firmly on when not in use, I am a happy doodler, not an artist, but I find this gel pen set fun to use, and I anticipate my grandchildren will enjoy using them too.

They were shipped fast. Container was not so great but it made do. I would give 5 stars except I was expecting 100 different colors and many of them were duplicates. Disappointed on that. However, the gel pens do color good as I use them for my adult coloring books. So far all of them that I tried have worked good. At times thought they seem not to work but then they start again. Not too bad. If you want 100 different colors, this is not the set for you. If you are ok with many duplicates then this set is a good value.
I wish I would have bought 2 or 3 sets of these pens!! I bought them for my nieces and I tried them out before giving them to them....you know to make sure they work and all heehee. Well I give them to them and then buy me some from Walmart cause all gel pens are the same...WRONG! These gel pens...I colored for hours straight (I am 37 years old) and then I tried coloring with the walmart gel pens and I only colored for like an hour and haven't colored since. Smart Color Art gel pens are awesome..don't skip...or rarely skip, and there are awesome colors, metallic, and glitter colors. I bought these on the lightening deal and were $14 and now they are $44. I definitely would have rather paid the $14 to get more, but I am actually considering repurchasing these at the $44 because they are worth it!
I have never colored with gel pens before so I was pleasantly surprised. It is a different medium than pencils but they are awesome - they color very nicely. First of all, this set has a full range of FUN, VIBRANT colors, which I like very much. Even though I decorate with monochromatic schemes, when I color I like the vibrancy and brightness of color. And this set has 100 colors to choose from. Of course, I have just started using them, so I still have lots of experimenting to do with these pens, but so far my 80 plus year old parents that I take care of now want to use my pens. I have a feeling I will be ordering another set.
Really great gel pens! I was worried about purchasing because a lot of reviews showed that the pens busted during shipping but luckily that didn't happen to me. The glitter ones are my favorite, very pigmented with a lot of ink. I had trouble with one of the neon ones but no other issues! I highly recommend if you're looking for a large gel pen collection!
The pens themselves are great but one leaked in transit and it was a mess. Also the super cheap plastic bin they come in is so flimsy you have to throw it away and use something else to hold all of them. It should be good enough to keep the pens in for the next 5 years.
