I am really impressed by these lights for the price paid. Very good light output and of very good construction. Would not compare these to a flashlight since to me they serve a different purposes, ambient light versus spot light. I will recommend these to friends and family and will order more if I end up giving some away.
The lanterns arrived yesterday and are phenomenal.
I have a set of the 60 lumen competitors, with which I've been very satisfied, but these blow them away in terms of illumination.
I had never heard of COB (Chips On Board) technology and bought them to try it out. I did the math and these are 25 times brighter in Lumens and certainly seem as bright as my old, larger gasoline lantern with the fragile mantle and inherent inconvenience and danger. They clearly light up a 12 by 14 room. They also seem to have less of a glare than the 60 lumen lanterns which have their LED arrays arranged differently.
Although I haven’t been camping for a few decades, these will be invaluable for those not infrequent times that our local On-Off-Off Power Company can’t fix their power glitches for hours or days on end.
I am very happy with these portable LED lights. They are extremely bright but I like that you can control the light output by sliding the LED bars down into the base. For the price, these cannot be beat. I ordered them during a power outage and they arrived before we got power back on so we used them immediately and a lot (power was out for 5 days). I am extremely happy about this purchase and plan to purchase some more. At this price, I will put them all over the house so they are available everywhere in the event of another power outage. These also come with the batteries. These are the newer style LED that has a more even and less harsh light output. Look no further, buy these. ( I received no benefit from writing this review, these are just that good).
ordered them so fast I wondered if I had done the right thing. I am happy to tell you I DID do the right thing, I love them. I never can find any light if we loose electricity in a storm, so I thought these would be just right and they are. They seem to be well made and the Led really gives off a lot of light. I am 84 and sure don't want to fall, now I can put one in each room that I would really need to see if all dark. A friend came by and said what's this and I told her to just pull it up, and she loved it and thought it was really neat just as I did. Guess I will have to look into gift giving later in the year, if I can find a good price on them again. I am very happy with this purchase.
I bought these to light up a yurt where we were spending the weekend.
They arrived the same day as promised.
I tried out each one at home to make sure all were working properly.
We arrived late at night, it was pitch black inside, with the help of my flashlight I had all 4 placed in no time.
They worked well and I'm happy with them.
I'm not sure how robust the "off" switch is. I found one turned on with only 1/8" gap from full closed. Hopefully they won't turn on while in transit.
While I got exactly what I paid for and what was advertised it would be nice if you could dim them. While they aren't "too bright", it would be fine to have them a little dimmer in some situations. The spec is 24 hours on a set of batteries. For a long trip I'll need to carry extra batteries. Dimming would extend the life.

We just went through a 4 day power outage and had 3 other lanterns break from being dropped or knocked off tables. This prompted me to order your lamps. They are much brighter and seem sturdier than what I had before. I love that they retract for storage. I wish we had these during our power outage. I also use one at night if I need to get up so I don't disturb everyone else by turning on an overhead light. These are great. I'm so glad I bought them.
I got the lights in a very timely manner and am very grateful. Hurricane Irma was bearing down on us and I knew we would probably lose power (we did). The pros are that the lights are super bright, very affordable, come with batteries, have a super easy on and off and convenient handle to carry around. The only con, and it was a big one for us, is that the light is so bright that it blinds you. I put a make shift lamp shade over it and it was better. Also, I found that if I turned it upside down and opened it just a little it was a great night light. These lights are a great value. I'm thinking these would also be nice outside on a walkway or in the garden.
This is my second set of four lights that I have bought from this company. I wanted to have more lights at my campground so I purchased another set of four lights. These lights are super bright and best of all come with 3 AA batteries for each light, sure they are Twaiwan specials but hey they are free! These are awesome! I bought a four pack for my family as we are hoping to get a camping trip together soon. We have two little ones and they had a blast with these. So easy to turn on and off for them, no buttons to push or dials to turn. Just grab handles and pull up or push down. The LEDs are super bright! My daughter wanted to keep hers on her nightstand so she could read books at night. The light lit up the entire room! Not good if you just want a dull ambient light, these puppies are serious! I can see them being perfect when the power goes out. We are usually headlamp people but these lanterns are a close game-changer. I would have loved to get the colored pack for the kids but I didn't feel an extra $5 justified the fun factor. Black were just fine....I can always put a little color on one for my daughter with stickers or bright nail polish:)
I purchased the 4 pack of these lanterns a few days before Hurricane Irma. Our power was out for several days, and these little lanterns were amazing. One can totally light up a good sized room. Since you can adjust the brightness by raising or lowering the top, they were great to use in any room. Easy to carry around with the handles. I went out on our patio a couple of times during the storm and used one of these to check out the swimming pool and I could see it very well. The batteries lasted about 10 - 12 hours. I would highly recommend these for power outages, camping, or anything you would need lighting for. LOVE THEM!!!
