I came down with shingles in 2010. It is now 2017 and although the lesions are gone I was diagnosed with Post Herpetic Neuralgia which is a polite way of saying you are in excruciating pain day and night and nothing helps. I have tried it all including meds (no relief) steroid injections into my spine (no relief), acupuncture (no relief), pain meds (no relief) etc, etc, etc.
For the last year I have used a cream prescribed by an MD and made by a compounding pharmacy--I went from a 9 pain level to a 5 which I though was incredible. But---lately the cream has stopped being effective and the pain level returned with a vengeance.
I have no idea why I decided to go to Amazon to do research on shingle meds (not really expecting to find anything, but you get desperate after 7 years of pain. I read all the reviews and decided what the heck, I will try it and if it doesn't work I will send it back for a refund. It came this afternoon . I am so comfortable after applying the cream. I have to confess I was very skeptical but I was also very desperate.
Nothing else has come close to the relief I feel. Shingles usually occur between the breast bone and the back bone which means I have been carrying alot of pain. Some folks get PHN in the area of the original shingles outbreak. That would be me. I am so comfortable I might even take a walk tomorrow....something I have not done in 7 years.
If you havePHN listen to me. Give it a try. Seven years was a long time to suffer. Please take my advice.
Prior to using this cream, I was using an Essential Oil that was recommended to me. All that the oil did was make the sores tingle. It left them red and unsightly. I switched to this cream and the results are amazing. The sore started healing faster, and started looking lighter right away. If I ever have shingles again, I will start using this cream on Day 1 !
I've had shingles 7 times since 2010!! (Too much stress!!) ) I've tried everything - Even had the vaccine, which prevented future attacks for a year & half -- until just recently, although this one is less severe. In the past after the shingles dissipate I will have the red marks remain for almost a year. I will also have the nerve pain for at least 6 months. I truly don't know how this works but the red marks are also dissipating with the shingles (which is a first) & within just 2 weeks my nerve pain is minimal!
Even with the outer layer of the shingles completely gone now I will continue to use this for the nerve sensation- until that is gone too.

I ordered this cream for my fiancé as he was diagnosed with shingles on his face. It started under his eye and spread quickly down the whole side of his face. The anti-viral medication didn't seem to have any impact on him as it wasn't caught within the first 72 hours as recommended. He was actually misdiagnosed with a skin infection and given antibiotics and told to come back in 4 days if it wasn't any better. Needless to say in 4 days his face was swollen with blisters and he couldn't see out of his eye so we went back to the doctors and he was then diagnosed with shingles. I bought this cream after reading the reviews and it was the best decision I have ever made. Within the first 24 hours there was a noticeable difference with the redness, swelling and blisters. On the second day the shingles were half the size which was a huge relief for him. I would recommend this product to anyone battling the shingles as it has really helped when nothing else did. As a side note before putting the cream on his face we mixed a paste of baking soda and water and let that draw out the liquid from the blisters. We let that sit for 20 minutes, rinsed it off and then put the cream on. I don't know if that made a difference or not, but it is working for him!
I must first say that I do not have shingles and hope never to have them because I understand it is a horrible thing to have. Probably all of us old chicken-pox "survivors" eventually live in dread of the adult return of that virus. I know people who have had shingles and anyone who does has my sympathy. However, even though this product is directed at those with shingles, its ingredients and description attracted me for other uses and I wanted to let others know about my experience with this cream for a non-shingles issue., I have had a recurring skin condition that hasn't responded well to any other products. It causes a maddening, persistent itching and can just be very annoying. So I thought I would give this product a try, even though it was a bit of an expensive experiment. This cream has been a genuine wonder. It seems to really do the trick for my skin problem and I am very grateful, indeed! That has been my experience and even though it does not pertain to shingles (knock on wood), I hope this can be of some help to others. Today I'm starting Week 5 of this shingles hell. If you have this horrible condition, or have had it, no words are needed to describe how excruciatingly painful this is and debilitating. The pain is constant, the itching unbearable. I have shingles on my right front and back torso. It robs you of your life for a whole block of time. Sought medical treatment the day the rash appeared. Dr gave me prescription for Valtrex, 5% Lidocaine and told me to take Advil. On Week 2, I sought the prescription they offered for 800 mg ibuprofen, took for four days and then broke out with a ghastly case of hives over the blistery shingles. I will never forget that week! Hives resolved with copious amounts of Benadryl, then was just left with the shingles rash. Tried everything to get some relief, lidocaine offered initial relief but then became irritating. Then, capzasin (made me see stars!), calamine lotion, lidocaine creme and roll-on, oatmeal baths, Uber Numb, several itch cremes, Benadryl gel. Then went on to home remedies, Virgin coconut oil (internal and topically), Turmeric tea and tea tree oil. Had great hopes for Bee Propolis mending salve....nothing. Finally found DermaChange Shingles Relief Cream....wish I could say like another reviewer that it gave me immediate relief, which is reason for only 4 stars. I recently had a horrific case of Shingles and the scaring and damage to my nerves after rash cleared is extensive on the entire right side of my upper torso front to back. If you have shingles BUY THIS NOW! I came down with shingles 10 days ago. I didn't know what it was at first so I missed the 3 day window to get antiviral medication. I developed painful sores on the bridge of my nose, the side of my face and my right eyelid below my eyelashes. By the time I discovered this product on the internet I was 7 days into the outbreak and the lesions were very inflamed and painful. I could not wait for this product to arrive. I applied it to all lesions except the one on my eyelid. Within 12 hours the inflammation and soreness were 80% improved. Within 2 days all soreness was gone and the lesions mostly healed. The exception is the lesion on my eyelid that I could not treat. That one is still very sore and inflamed. I never leave reviews, but for this I will. I started noticing what I thought was an allergic reaction on Sunday. Got worse on Monday. Tuesday I went to the dr. Was told I had a severe case of shingles. They are on the right side of my face, neck, back of head and in my hair. This is absolutely the worse pain I have ever had....and I'm a 46 year old man. Got the meds from the dr. Taking them religiously. Still was not helping with the pain. Blisters hurt and were numerous. Face was swollen. I was looking at Amazon for some kind of relief on Thursday night. Came across this. Looked at reviews as I always do before I purchase. Bought it and had it Friday. Put it on Friday night and 3 different times on Saturday. By Sunday, the blisters have disappeared and been replaced with the scabs to heal. This has worked quicker than I could have imagined.
Couple of hints. Keep in the refrigerator. It makes it cool when it goes on so you get some relief there. Also, yes you can put it in your hair on your scalp.. That was one part that was really itching and burning. So I did and it helped. It just washed out. Also, I ordered the 8oz. Should have ordered the 4oz. You really don't need the 8. But it will work for other uses too. I want to definitely recommend this to anyone that has shingles. It won't help with your energy level for overall fatigue.
