COSORI 7-in-1 6 Qt Electric Pressure Cooker, Slow Cooker, Rice Cooker, Yogurt Maker, Sauté, Steamer & Warmer, Instant Stainless Steel Pot, Extra Sealing Ring, Glass Lid, Recipe, 2-Year Warranty, 120V

I bought this as a gift for someone who has no previous experience with pressure cooking. When it arrived I compared it to my Instant Pot. It compares very, very favorably. The materials it's made of and the fit and finish are every bit as excellent as my Instant Pot. Where it rises above the IP is in the extras it ships with: a glass steam vented lid, a spare silicone ring (both of which are additional cost items with the IP), a condensation cup that holds onto the side better than the one IP provided and a trivet that stands twice as high out of the pot with no side wings. The only thing that kept me from five starring this product was the lack of a recipe book which would have been very beneficial for the newbies I gave it to. That said there are plenty of sites on the web where you can find all the help you need. My advice? Buy this on sale without hesitation but even at the regular price it's still excellent value for the money.

We bought this at my wife's request after our crock pot broke. I hated crock pot meals (they always taste like mush to me) so I wasn't in a hurry to replace it. When my wife said she wanted to try an electric pressure cooker instead, I was skeptical. But not anymore! This cooker is vastly superior to a dedicated slow cooker.

First, it's fast. Meals can be cooked in time frame much shorter (often less than an hour from start to finish) than in a crock pot. Second, the food tastes great! As a crock pot hater, I was very doubtful about this point, but I was wrong. The meals have never been mushy, whether its vegetables or meat. We have cooked ribs, chicken and dumplings, macaroni and cheese, general tso's chicken, a creamy chicken alfredo, and a couple of whole chickens in ours in the last month. Every meal has been great.

Third, it's truly a one pot solution for many meals. You can sauté and brown meat and veggies before adding other ingredients, allowing you to save dishes and those tasty browned juices.

Fourth, we liked this model more than the Instant Pot. This model comes with the slow cooker lid and an extra silicone gasket, both of which cost extra with the Instant Pot (which is already more expensive to begin with). Also, we prefer the operation of the quick pressure release valve on this model compared to what we have seen on the instant pot. As for receipies, most are written for "manual mode" on the Instant Pot Duo. Those can easily be used for the Cosori once you understand the differences in how the two cookers operate. The Instant Pot has two pressure settings, low and high. The Cosori has 6 pressure settings; setting 1 is equal to "low" on the Instant pot, and 6 is equal to "high." On the Cosori, every mode that uses pressure (doesn't include modes like sauté or slow cook) is a manual mode. It starts with a suggested pressure and time, but can be completely changed to match the receipie. That it why it doesn't have a dedicated "manual" mode like the Instant Pot (which has preset modes that can only be tweaked, but not fully changed). Once you realize that, all of the receipies can be cooked with great results.

Fifth, the customer service from Cosori is fantastic. I've emailed them twice now with questions and both times received a response within hours with an answer. Just to share what I learned: the slow cooker setting is equal to the "high" setting on a dedicated crock pot if trying to use a slow cooker receipie. Also, the silicone gasket doesn't have to be removed from the lid for every cleaning, but they recommend at least every third use. We have been removing it at least once a week or if it looks like any food has gotten stuck up there. But to honest the design is such that this rarely happens and it dries completely without removing the gasket.

So far everything I have cooked in this marvelous pressure cooker has cooked perfectly. I love being able to walk away after entering the desired settings. Can't do that with a stovetop pressure cooker. Love the heavy duty stainless steel interior pot. I easily seasoned the interior pot to a non stick with coconut oil using the sauté setting. The unit is heavy duty and easy to clean. The quick release button is centered on the lid far enough away from the released stream to not burn your hand. This is a wonderful safety feature. Soooo..... Why only four stars.... I have used pressure cookers for years and had a electric one many years ago. So far it has replaced two of my crock pots, yogurt maker, and my rice cooker. Good instructions are so important. I found the instructions that came with this unit to be lacking in basic information. There are only a very few recipes. More recipes or a guide to help newbies convert other recipes please!

I received the product and it did not work. I contacted the company and they pomptly provide me a new device and it works! I'm providing a five star rating because this is a company that stands behind their product.

First off, growing up I heard enough horror stories about someone's grandma or auntie blowing up the kitchen with an old-fashioned pressure cooker. There was no way I would purchase or use a stove top unit. I did some research and decided to buy the Cosori electric pressure cooker. This model supposedly can be used as a slow cooker, rice cooker, blah blah blah. So far I have only used the unit as a pressure cooker, but I found it easy to program and use. I was skeptical, but the cooking time is incredible. And as a safety measure the pot will not open until all the steam is manually released. The inner pot is sturdy, durable stainless steel. The power cord detaches for easy storage. For me the best part is that the lid is removable, which makes the unit easy to clean thoroughly. There is also a condensation catcher--good idea. The customer service was friendly, responsive and helpful.

Useful Tips for You to Know Before Cooking:

1. Make sure the sealing ring & relief value are well-placed inside the lid, make sure there is enough water before cooking
2. This pressure cooker is only for AC 120V/60HZ. A voltage convertor is needed to transfer the power supply to the standard one if yours is not qualified
3. To avoid burns, please quickly press the pressure release button by wearing a glove
4. Before the timer starts to count down the cooking time, normally several minutes is needed for the pressure cooker to preheat to gather enough pressure and the length of time is affected by the inside water/ingredients volume and rated power
5. Due to overpressure protection mechanism, it’s normal for less steam to leak out occasionally through the pressure relief valve for about 2 minutes when cooking

I bought this as a Lightning Deal in July and just tried it for the 1st time tonight. I've been wanting to get an Instant Pot, but with the cost I always found a way to deny buying it. When I saw this on Prime Day, I really wanted to get it! I looked at the controls & it wasn't that different than the IP, plus, I was getting it for $30 less than the IP that is the same 7-in-1. I have never used a pressure cooker, not even the ones on the stove...having a steam filled, pressurized vessel just seemed way too dangerous in the kitchen...my luck, I would have taken the lid off without letting the pressure go down enough. (That would have been a disaster, I'm sure!). OK, so I decide for my first try to make ribs...had a rack in the freezer & found a recipe on the internet. They were soooooo good! They were tender without being so "slimy" that they slide off the bone too easily...we like the meat to be tender without being mushy. Total cook time was about 45 minutes...compared to 8 hours in a slow cooker, that was amazing! My daughter was shocked when she saw ribs on the table..."How did they cook so fast???" I explained my new kitchen gadget was the hero of my dinner! I can't wait to make some steel cut oatmeal in the morning! Clean-up was easy too. I went onto the Cosori website to register for the extended warranty & they have a different recipe book online than the one that was in the box...more recipes! Thanks, Cosori...I'm really glad I made this purchase! Now I'm wondering if I need another...:)!

I gave my brand new Corsori cooker 5 stars but I’ve only cooked one meal with it so far. It was delivered yesterday and I read the very limited directions. I ran into trouble trying to attach the pressure relief valve - there was no mention of how to affix it. My husband put it on with no trouble because he didn’t hesitate to apply pressure and push it into position. I tried but didn’t want to push so hard that it would break. Same thing with the plastic liquid catcher. The paperwork shows it as included, but there was no mention of where or how to attach it. Again, my husband managed to figure out how to attach it by applying pressure and pressing it in place. Directions related to both of these items would be very helpful! Ive included a photo of the beef vegetable soup I made today in my new pot. I found it easy to program and the soup took a total of 40 minutes to be perfectly cooked. The 1.5 lbs of ground beef was frozen solid when I put it in the pot and the meat cooked perfectly in this chunky, delicious soup. All of the vegetables were also perfectly cooked and tender but not mushy. I’m looking forward to using my new pot regularly and enjoying many delicious homemade meals.

I have been intrigued by the electric pressure cookers for awhile and have been toying with getting one for awhile. I have an extensive collection of kitchen stuff including appliances and I wasn’t sure if I would actually use it enough. I cook a lot of beans, braises and like to do stocks (but don’t because of storage and time).

I saw an incredible deal during Prime Days over the summer. I had not heard of Cosori but did some research and read the reviews. I pulled the trigger and I am glad I did. The reviews I read were correct: Good bang for the buck included glass lid and extra sealing ring that the Instant Pot does not, has been pretty easy to use, good functionality, user manual is basic and not very helpful. The customer service has been incredible; they kept emailing me to see how I was liking the cooker and to make sure I was happy. Unfortunately I couldn’t give them an answer because I purchased this for beans, braises and roasts - I didn’t get it out of the box until November when the weather turned.

Beans, navy bean soup, short ribs, pork loin roasts and beef bourguignon have all turned out fabulous. Invest in a good cookbook - since the controls are very similar (maybe easier) than the Instant Pot you can use the recipes from their books and users.

The Cosori Pot seems more user friendly and doesn’t seem to have some of the quirks (like turning the vent in order for the IP to come to pressure and burnt notifications) that seem to befuddle the user of the IP. I have not had any problems with the machine becoming pressurized. Super easy.

This is a pretty good deal. I got it yesterday, and made a stew that my kids really liked. The directions are confusing, but custom settings for the pressure cooker. Just pick any program, press the pressure button to cycle to the level you like, and adjust time with the +/- buttons.

Everyone is talking about the electric pressure cookers. I actually received one as a gift a few years ago and returned it, thinking I would never use it (boy was I wrong). When my slow cooker gave me signs that it was ab out time for a new one, and my kids asking me if I was going to do any more canning, it was time for a second look. I compared the 3 major pressure cookers that are on the market and chose the Cosori. It seemed to be the best value for the money and included extras like the steam rack, the glass tempered lid and extra silicon seal. Cosori also had the feature for canning where the others did not, and that was important to me. Admittedly I was scared to use the cooker at first; I wasn't sure what to expect, fear I would do something wrong and have an explosion in the kitchen, etc. etc. All unwarranted fears! This pressure cooker couldn't be any easier to use. It has been on my kitchen counter for about 11 days and used for cooking something, at least 10 of those. I like it, I love it and if I had room in my kitchen I'd have more than one!
