MYNT3D Professional Printing 3D Pen with OLED Display

This is a great pen. Firstly, all 3d pens are unreliable due to the nature of their design. Thats why so many reveiws express issues. Some part or another is cheap and doesnt hold up. Many are as good as trash when they become faulty because you cant replace the faulty parts. The heating element in this pen is the faulty part. This is my 3rd 3D pen. The other two brands broke and are not servicable. This unit can be taken apart and serviced if need be. 3D pens and printers are a hobby and like most hobbies it can be rather expensive when breakdowns occur. If you're a hobbyist, spending 30 to 50 bucks every several months to keep producing art is really not that much. This pen is lighter than others which makes it seem a little cheap but the features show the quality. Unlike other pens, this one will feed the plastic 2 ways. First, you can hold the button which stops the feed when released or you can double click the feed button and it will continuously feed which is nice for larger areas. The heating range is adjustable in 1 degree increments which is nice for acheiving the appropriate flow and consistency as each plastic is different and use different temps. The gnome house in the picture i attached was made using wood filament. Overall, its a good pen. Ive only been using it for a few days so i can't speak for its longevity, but ive got about 15 hours on it with no issues. Customer service seems to be readily available for any issues you may have. I am pleased with this purchase. I was happy with the other 2 brands i purchased but they just didnt hold up. Hopefully I can update this at a later time with an equally positive review. Happy printing!

I used this pen to mend 3D prints and sometimes to weld 3D printed parts together. It came in real handy on this 7/8ths scale coach, which (except for the platform and the connectors) is entirely printed. I tried several others, but this one worked best because, it does not clog, the stream of material is easy to control, and it feels good in my hands.

We bought this pen after buying a different generic/cheaper pen that lasted one (1) use, and then clogged. Happily we were able to return the pen to the seller. That was a bad experience.

This pen was a good experience. It worked very well with the ABS filament and some other ABS filament that we got from a highly rated seller on Amazon. Pen has been clog free and the motor works seamlessly. There is some material left in the chamber after each use, so we have made sure to extract the extras out of there so that we can get the color as pure as possible once we begin working on a project. Moving from white to black and vice versa has been especially noticeable as the initial extrusions from the pen are grey.

The pen does get a little hot near the tip, but oddly does not include the silicone finger tips that were included with the other pen, so if you have younger kids, it may be worth it to get those finger tips for a few dollars more. The adjustable speed (it is a slider, unlike some pens which have buttons to adjust the speed) is really nice and gives you a little more flexibility than some other models.

Overall, we are very happy with this pen. It stimulates your creativity without getting in the way, which is all you can ask for from a pen like this.

Hope this helps you with your purchasing decision.

This works well. The plastic comes out when you hold the feed button, and cuts off when you let go. The speed is controllable with a slider on the side. You can set the temperature over a wide range. It shows both the target temperature, and the current temperature.

I can make things with it, but it's obvious I need a lot more practice to make anything that looks good. I got it mostly for repairs, and it seems pretty good for that.

Cons: The cord is a little short.

Things that weren't initially obvious: After you plug it in, the heater stays off until you hit the feed button to wake it up. At that point the heater cuts on, and the temperature starts to climb to the target. I waited several minutes for it to heat up, while wondering what was happening, before I tapped the feed button and it started to heat.

Another reviewer said his came with no hole in the nozzle. Mine came with some white filament left in the nozzle, possibly from testing. It was almost the same color as the ceramic nozzle, and made it _look_ like there was no hole. However, I could see the difference with a 30X magnifier. Once it heated up, the new filament pushed out the white stuff. I needed a high temperature, so I suspect the white plastic was ABS. I suggest MYNT3D use a colored filament for testing to avoid this confusion.

This was a Christmas present for my kids. There is a bit of a learning curve but it works well. No problems so far. I enjoy using it myself! Hint: you can trace patterns by placing them under tissue paper and using that as your work surface. I used a silicone-type mat for some things, but the filament won't stick to it, so if you are making something with lots of curves and need the filament to stay put, the tissue paper works better. The filament will have to be pulled off the tissue paper, which may tear a bit, but it was worth it to me for more intricate shapes.

The pen has a smooth print, but if the temperature is too high, the plastic will have bubbles. After playing with this pen for about 30 minutes, I had the basics down and it was a lot of fun. The plastic doesn't stick to anything well, so it makes it hard to draw, but I read in the instructions that if you use a glue stick and put a thin layer over whatever it is that you're trying to draw on, it'll stick a lot better and it did! This was a replacement pen for my daughter after her last one broke after just a few uses and she loves it.

I love this pen. It’s a really nice pen I just got mine and started using it right out of the box. I don’t have any experience using a 3D pen and I was very comfortable using it the very first time. The variable speed button is great I can speed out the flow or slow it down for more precise details. Great product lots of fun thinking of getting a second one. I wanted to add to this review. I had the pen for over a week now and I love it. No jams so far. I just purchased flexible filament and it worked like a charm. I love this thing

I love this pen, I got a huge box of fillament after doing some research on what I wanted out of the pen and I even took it to work with me and showed my students how to use it. They fell in love with the 3d pen and some of them made some really cool works of art.

I purchased this for my 12 year old granddaughter last Christmas. She loved it...and made me a lovely flower in a flower pot.

Takes 1.75mm Filament and extrudes it nicely at the temperature you specify. Motor has a good pull on it, so it can actually pull the filament straight off of a spool. Ceramic tip is easy to clean, although nothing has stuck to it so far.
Like others have said, it needs a much longer power cord (-1 Star) but that's something I can fix.
