I had owned maybe the first version of this light which i had attached to my gopro and dropped it in the water no more than 30' It stayed lit for maybe a full minute never to work again. I took a chance on this latest model because it was so inexpensive. This light is great. I have used it multiple times with my gopro 3+ in salt water. Ive taken it down to a depth of 212 ' The light stays on for about 2-3 hours on its highest setting. The beam is wide, and illuminates the darkness maybe 3' well but i think more like up to 8' in total (it is hard to tell distance from the underwater video i have captured) I originally had wanted to see what the ocean floor looks like in hopes of catching Halibut, but have found that i know just like to watch all the underwater critters this rig (Gopro Neewer light) capture. The photo is around 150'

The light is bright I haven't tested how long it lasts but I hear 3 to 5 hours I am not impressed with the inner build quality seems to be a little cheesy to me but for the price it's a really good deal it does slip off the housing easy so I do not recommend using the stock housing mount without glue or something

The ocean is almost black, but this light illuminates everything. It works great under water, but I don't recommend it as your main flashlight. After my tests, it doesn't seem to keep a hundred percent brightness for a long time. Since our time under water is also very short, there is no problem within two hours. I used it to get some very clear pictures of jellyfish, which will be recommended to those in need.

Before I ordered this product, I always read reviews regardless if a product has five stars or one star. One customer stated that he lost his GoPro while diving; I assume with this light. I thought about what I could do to prevent that from happening. So I did some testing with different GoPro accessories, weight is a significant factor when I did my set up. It may alter the way a person would normally have it on just a selfie stick even though the GoPro mounts on top of light itself. I would hate to have the same mistake as him. I went ahead, and gorilla glued the locking mechanism so it would not fall off (See picture). I saw that it did not have a proper way for it to lock in place. Although it slides in place giving it the slightest jerk could cause it to fall off. While scuba diving, I do not have worry about it falling if I am on a drift dive or night dive. Don't watch $400 fall to the bottom of the sea seal it with Gorilla Glue!!

UPDATE: I took this light night diving and it was amazing!! The light was bright enough to use as my primary light (Although I took a secondary just to be safe). A lot of other divers had to use both hands; one with a dive light and GoPro in the other. I was able to use just one hand and actually enjoy my dive. I definitely recommend this product!!

I used the low power when taking the pictures and video.

I will start by saying I just ordered another one. Yes. This worked perfectly for me. I am a photographer who is now offering underwater shoots. Gave this a test run a few days ago and it worked perfectly and I was so happy to have it. I am doing my shoots in the very late evening to night timeframe so this was critical to being able to get the camera to auto-focus in the low amount of light I would normally have in those conditions. Light coming down from external above water lighting does get reduced quite a bit and of course has the tell tale highlight areas because of how the surface waves reshape the light beams. My shoot went on for hours and although we, of course, turned it off when not in use and it still lasted the entire time.

Nice compact video/dive light at a reasonable price. I use mine with an Olympus Tough in an Olympus housing with two Sea & Sea strobes, as a video light, and sometimes as just a dive light. Works well, would like one with more power, but at the price this is a good light for occasional video use.

I took these to Roatan & they preformed excellent , I got down to 101 ft. & no issues .

Great quality and build. Perfect companion to your GoPro for both underwater and indoor-low-light conditions. Doesn't have your typical, China-made flaws, was really impressed with the quality.
