Bought this Bounty Hunter Junior T.I.D. Metal Detector for my grandson's 9th birthday. He was delighted. He is just starting out on his metal detecting journey. After reading reviews from several different models, I chose this one. Perfect for a beginner, especially one at his age. He facetimes me from Tennessee when he has found something interesting. He is really enjoying his new found hobby!. This model is sturdy and not too expensive. Was easy to handle for a child. Thanks Bounty Hunter!
I bought this for my 7 year old daughter and I have to say, I am very (pleasantly!) surprised at not only the quality, but the accuracy as well! My daughter can easily find treasures and has not been disappointed with her findings so far - she has been telling all of our family and her friends how awesome her new metal detector is and all about things that she's found. Her enthusiasm motivated my brother to get one for each of his three boys. The design is flawless, allowing my small 7 year old to carry it and swing with ease and the emoji interface is very cute and helpful, she says it's her favorite part. As a mother with a very energetic child, I would highly recommend this product - It's perfect for getting the kids out of the house for some exercise, fresh air, and some good old-fashioned treasure hunting. Without realizing it at the time, I lost my wedding ring at the beach. I returned a week later with my daughter's metal detector in a last ditch effort to find it. Lo and behold, after about 40 minutes of scanning the area where we had sat, I found it under 6" on sand!
So far, so good. My 6-year old really liked this gift and set out to hunt for treasures right away. The handle was very lightweight and he can easily pick it up with one hand. It is adjustable so my 5-year olds can also use it with no trouble. We "staged" a few coins by throwing them out on the lawn to see if it worked. The kids were surprised when the metal detector made noise over the coins and they felt like they were rich. It seems like a fun new hobby for all of us.
This metal detector was the surprise hit of my granddaughter’s birthday party! The kids knew instantly what a metal detector was and wanted to use it to find treasure. Before the party I sprinkled pennies and quarters on the grass, and sure enough they had a discovery! Now they want to take it to the beach. The detector is easy to use right out of the box, compact and super lightweight so I can see getting lots of use out of it when we go camping and hiking with us too. The thing I like most about the detector is that it got the kids off the couch, away from their screens and outside on a real-life adventure.

This is our second Bounty Hunter Junior - our older son has one, so our younger son had to have one too! It is such a cool product, the images are easy for my sons to pickup on and identify different types of metals. We hide coins, screws and other fun things for them to find in our backyard. The length of the detector is adjustable, so we could make my younger son's shorter and easier for him to use. Works as advertised and so much fun!

Great little metal detector! I bought it for my son for Christmas and couldn’t be happier with it! He’s six and it’s supper easy for him to use! He gets really excited when he gets a smiling emoji!
