LOVE the digest. Am super bummed to learn that I can't get it on my Kindle fire. Most puzzling. Can't imagine what prevents it.
I've been buying this for many years, and I always read it cover to cover. This magazine is stuffed full of helpful information; interesting stories and funny true experiences.
Over the years, some things have changed: number of issues a year, regular contributers and even the kind of paper used; however, the quality of the stories has remained good. It's still one of the magazines I always renew and the size makes it perfect to tuck into a purse for moments when I'm waiting somewhere.
I'm thrilled that Amazon makes it super easy to buy magazines.
The quality of Rd has improved in the last year. It has always been a standard quality magazine for the whole family until a bit ago. The jokes chosen became tasteless or worse and things seemed to be degrading. Articles not well chosen. I saw it and didn't like it. Now it seems someone has caught the old vision of a quality magazine again. Bravo RD. Keep your quality up and you'll weather any financial storm.
I have been a Reader's Digest reader practically all my life (about 35 yrs., I believe). It's a magazine that I have always enjoyed. Imagine my surprise when Amazon offered it as a subscription on my phone. Ironically enough, I just logged in and have begun to read several of the articles. I love the clarity of the words, the spacing between the letters, words, lines of text, the chosen font, and the fact that I can view it without advertisements and pictures. The white words pop pleasantly against the black background. It's nice having access to the magazine at all times. It is quite enjoyable reading on the screen. Even though I'm nearsighted--because of the clarity of the screen and the chosen font--it has allowed me to read without eye strain. I feel like I've been given an enjoyable gift. Thanks to Reader's Digest and Amazon.
I travel quite a bit and this size magazine fits perfectly in my purse or overnight bag to read on the way. Usually there is enough interesting reading to last for the whole journey and I can share the jokes with anyone sitting next to me if they care to hear them.

Description
Contains digest and original articles on a wide variety of health-related topics. Also contains short abstracts of current medical progress in section entitled "News from the World of Medicine."
I enjoy reading the Reader's Digest and I find most of its content interesting. But because it is a 'digest,' it can't go in depth and the online version seems to contain even less of such items as the humor columns. That said, for the price, it is fun to read and an informative.
Gotta love Reader's Digest! Even though it's a bit old-fashioned, it still maintains high quality standards and good short versions of interesting stories.
I bought this as a gift for my husband. He mentioned seeing it and remembered how much he enjoyed it as a kid.
I wasn't sure if the fire version would be easy to read ( some manual/chart books are not) but he loves it! He said it was a thoughtful gift. See, I really do listen to what he says!
My favorite magazine! I used to get this as a Christmas gift from my Aunt every year. That was years ago. I've missed it. When Amazon came up with a deal I couldn't refuse, I subscribed again. This is one magazine I read from cover to cover then pass it on to a friend. I trust what's written. The content is interesting, informative, entertaining...it's all in there. I look forward to the next issue every month!
Reader's Digest has been around since I was little, and I remember finding something to read, even when I was young. I was thrilled to see that it was on the Prime deals around Christmas, and added it to my cart promptly because I figured my kids occasionally enjoy reading something that makes them feel "grown up" and because sometimes the health articles are a neat read for me now. I enjoy this magazine so much more than others that are out now- and I think it is appropriate for multiple ages, which makes it far better than the other smut out there. I just got my first magazine the other day and cannot wait to have free time to read it.
