WARNING: I ordered four packs of these premium carbon filters. I only received one pack of the premium (pleated) filters, and three packs of the cheaper regular carbon filters that don't work for my application. My well water has tiny < 5micron rust particles that only the premium filters will completely remove so the difference in performance is huge. I'm going to try ordering the ecopure brand instead to see if my order is filled without these ineffective substitutions.
I've been using a similar filter w/ 5 micron filter capability. I wasn't aware of that a 1 micron filter was available.
Installed it and been using for apx 1 month and they work great. The water delivery is adequate and doesn't slow appreciably when other faucet is opened.

Lowes dropped the Whirlpool filters and are now selling 5 micron AO Smith filters. They were not effective in cleaning my water. These work fine.

As stupid as this sounds, this filter is the only one that has stopped my hair from getting brittle with the hard well water we have. I have to change it every two months because of just how much iron is in my water, but it's well worth it to me! The 1 micron size is the key. None of the others do anything helpful for me. Water pressure has not been an issue at all for me, though it would have been in my previous house. If you already have low pressure, find another solution. If you have strong pressure and don't want the salt from a softener, this is the answer. Unfortunately for Amazon, it is $10 less ($15) for a package of two at Lowe's. The higher price and the need to replace it more often is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5.
