I bought this product after discovering someone was stealing water from my house. The thief wasn't bright enough to reconnect the hose after using my water, so that's when I discovered I had a problem.
This product has solved my problem! It's quite simple to use. Just insert the key into the lock, screw the lock onto the spigot, and remove the key. The lock stays on and will just spin around without coming off if you try to unscrew it.
The process to remove the lock is simple too. Put the key into the lock and unscrew the lock! Well worth the money as I have invested in protecting my home. No more water thieves!
I would definitely recommend this product to anyone with a spigot in front of their home that is easily seen/accessed from the street.
We got tired of hollering at our 2 and 4-year olds to 1) stop wasting water, 2) stop drenching everything in sight, especially themselves, and 3) stop creating mud so they could smear it on our white house. This does the trick! Just make sure to hide the key...
It was easy to install, and only took a few minutes. The key does fall out if you bump it and break the magnetic connection, so make sure you have it in all the way and be careful as you're turning it. The knob also feels a bit wobbly as you turn the water on full blast, so be careful not to lean on it. The definite advantages are that the knob just spins without turning the water on when the key isn't in, and this allows you to leave the hose hooked up to the bib.
I would definitely recommend this if you have small children who are able to operate your hose bib, or are concerned about someone stealing or wasting water.

Does what it needs to. Works great, takes a minute to figure out that the key needs to be fully depressed while turning and the key tends to slide out when facing downwards. Would be nice if they could magnetize the key so that it stayed in position while making the rotations. Otherwise it’s a great tool to preventing unauthorized use of my water spigot.
I had someone stealing water from my front water hose! I looked everywhere for a lock of some sort! I couldnt find anything at local hardware store so I looked on Amazon! I found this awesome lock and key for next to nothing! Got it in 2 days! I installed it and a couple days later I noticed a empty water container in the front of my house flipped upside down like someone had tried to use the water but failed to get any and got mad and left! When i lived in a modestly okay neighborhood, some kids decided to use my water hose to fill their water balloons. I figure it was fine even though they didnt ask and I didn't know them at all and never even spoke to them. I figure it'd just be a one time thing because how often do kid play with water balloons? All summer apparently. So I got this and the water thieves moved on to lady next door. For those who care about the story in this review: I told her about what was happening one night when those brats left her water running at full blast. She told the parents of the kids as she knew where they lived because they were friends with her daughter. I've sinced moved.
So if you have people taking your water and running up your bills get this right away.

It's smaller than I thought and heavier too. It was simple to put on, just screw it on the faucet with the key inserted. When I removed the key, the lock was ready. I'm looking forward to seeing if this solves my problem. I did put a note on the faucet at the beginning of the week and someone tore it. I put another stating that this was private property and now with the lock, hope that this is a deterrent and I won't get another huge water bill. I know things are tough economically right now but I certainly can't afford to keep others in water.

I put this on my faucet when I noticed my outside water being used by neighbors / random people. This thing works wonders and keeps unwanted people from using your faucets.
