I'm a pro groomer and while this isn't a top of the line scissor set, it is a very good one for folks who want to try to groom their dog at home. It even includes a nice curved scissor and a small bottle of oil. They are comfortable in your hand. I go through many scissor sets, and people often ask me which they should buy without spending a ton of money. This is a good choice if you don't want to spend over a hundred dollars on a nice starter set. (For pros, I'm using the Oster Kazus at present, and I do like them a lot.i also purchased them as a Lightning deal.)
If you want to groom your cat or dog at home, try these. Don't forget that all scissors should be professionally sharpened often for the best cut. If the fur starts to fold as you cut, it needs sharpened.
I am a professional pet stylist and I was looking for a cheap set. My first set arrived only had one pair of shears that worked right out of the box. The thinning shears where very lose and dull, the curved shears catched at the tip and not sharp till the bottom half of the blade. I took the comb as a plus item because it's always good to have extras. I was thinking I was going to pay additional money to get them sharpened and hope they work better. Honestly I couldnt complain for the price.
UPDATE: The customer service for this product is amazing! Nina reached out to me after posting the above review and wished for me to retry this product. It was her belief that the set I revived was a faulty set. She confirmed that they will pay closer attention to product leaving out for shipment. She also offered to send me a new set for free and I will not have to return the previous recieved set. THAT WAS AWESOME! I hate returning items. Anyways, the new set that arrived are flawless and I was able to appreciate the light weight shears. Thank you so much for all the help and great customer service!
This product is fabulous!! It comes with 3 different types of scissors, a metal heavy duty combination, a sharpener all tucked into a leather carrying case!! I have a goldendoodle... Soon to be a breeder, and these are fantastic! I groom him about every 2 weeks. I am not into shaving, as I think the breed should maintain their "shaggy, stuffed animal" look. I keep him combed but it's almost impossible to prevent mats. I have bought super expensive grooming tools guaranteed to get put any mat, untrue! But this grooming kit does it all!! I will definitely purchase a couple more to have on stand by and to offer to people who purchase a puppy. They are a must own!!
I love this kit! I have used the blunt curved scissors several times already and they cut very well. My dog is a Cavachon with very thick curly hair much like a Bichon. They seem very well made and durable. I have also used the comb often and like it as well because it is not too sharp on the tooth points. I especially like that the kit is all contained in a nice leather zippered pouch making it easy to keep the set stored safely together and ready for use.
Great value! Good quality scissors. I have a mini schnauzer and I didn't have any problems using these scissors on his crazy hair.Even the thinning shears worked fine. The carrying case was a little cheaply made but it does the job. Everything fits fine. I'm not a professional but I would recommend these shears for a home groomer.

I have an Australian Shepherd and his undercoat is very thick and wooly. I keep his rear end cut to avoid feces getting trapped in his fur. These scissors are very sharp and the comb helps more than I imagined.
This scissor set is an incredible buy for the money (and even if they raised the price - sssshhh, don't tell them)! I've recently taken on the task of grooming our Schnoodle myself because she was so traumatized by the pro groomer process, that following every grooming session, she would hide under my daughter's bed for the rest of the day - poor thing. Just what I needed! I have a Maltese mix and groom her at home. Could never get her face from looking chopped. The thinning shears did the job like a pro. This set is well made and comfortable for an amateur!
I have a pair of Ragdoll cats with really long hair. Brushes don't work well for our cats so I bought the metal combs. When some of the hair mats get too tight I need to trim them out. These are very nice quality scissors and the case is good quality too. The scissors are very comfortable to use. the price was very reasonable and they shipped and arrived quickly!
