Edmonton Journal

Easy to read and navigate through the paper.
Would like to see a better price point to justify daily subsription. Otherwise great way to digitally read the Edm Journal

It seems that so far, only people who don't like the Kindle version of the Edmonton Journal subscription have reviewed it here. Well, in our household, we do like it, quite a bit. Granted, we don't get all the photos, but we can check some of those out online. But we do get all the articles, and I find I'm reading the paper more thoroughly than when I had to wrestle with the broadsheet, even though it's size had been reduced somewhat recently.

This is in no small part due to the fact that my Kindle travels everywhere with me, so the Journal does as well. The coffee shop, the waiting room, the car while I'm waiting for my husband -- all of those places become spots where I can download and/or read the day's paper.

Also, we are seniors, and we no longer have to lug heaps of newspaper to our condo's recycle bin every week.

The only quibble we have is that the proofreading for the Kindle edition is sometimes rather lacking; I've provided feedback on this.

    Description

Established in 1903, The Edmonton Journal is Alberta’s largest newspaper, provides exhaustive political, business and general coverage affecting Alberta, the West and the North.

It all began at the back of the Shamrock Fruit Store in 1903. Amid apple crates and potato sacks, three enterprising newsmen produced the first edition of the Edmonton Journal. A century later, the Edmonton Journal remains Edmonton's most trusted voice, providing a fresh perspective on news, sports and entertainment that's picked up by more Albertans than any other daily newspaper.

The Kindle Edition of the Edmonton Journal contains articles found in the print edition, but will not include some images and tables. Also, some features such as the crossword puzzle, box scores and classifieds are not currently available. For your convenience, issues are automatically delivered wirelessly to your Kindle starting at 5:00 AM Edmonton local time.
