I used this for the first time today to chop onions and sweet potatoes to pair with my crockpot roast. I used the large dicer blade. You do have to cut the potato or onion into smaller pieces. You cannot just cut the whole thing unless you want large rectangular pieces. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to use. And at how well it cut the sweet potatoes because those are a pretty tough veggie to chop! It was a huge time saver!! I look forward to using it for many other slicing and chopping adventures in the future! However, please beware!! The blades are super sharp!! Be sure to not touch the blades with your bare hands!! I barely touched it while trying to clean it before the first use and it sliced my finger! It was a total user problem and not a product problem but just be super careful when cleaning! I imagine it could’ve been much worse! Now I know to handle it differently!
This company is great and stands behind their products. With the first wash, I had some pieces that melted, after contacting the company, they promptly sent me a replacement chopper. It is durable when chopping all sorts of food items. Although it is dishwasher safe, there can not be ANY food particles on it at all or it won't come clean, it will just be baked on. So you have to use the scraper in the top piece to clean it before putting in the dishwasher and something like a bottle brush, or pick off by hand, the pieces in the chopper blades. I think that is more of a dishwasher failure (which my GE dishwasher does NOT provide great cleaning quality), than anything to do with the chopper. Besides the first wash, all my pieces have washed safely in the top rack of my dishwasher. Great customer service and this really decreases the time spent on chopping! Worth the buy
I am happy I got this food prep tool. I have a wide mandolin for cabbage and a small size mandolin with julienne attachments but it just is not easy to use. I think it is just too small for me. So far the veg chopper has worked very well. I have prepped lettuce, onions, & tomatoes for tacos, and cut up carrot pieces to put into my sauerkraut. Everything works smoothly and all the knife edges are very sharp. Even dicing a Roma tomato was ez. I don't use a food tool like this often but it is nice to have it when I need it.
We eat a lot of veggies in salads and meals and the prep can be time consuming. And, as I get older, my wrists feel it after a day in the kitchen. Searched around on Amazon and YouTube for a veggie chopper and settled in this one. I LOVE IT!!! It has some quirks to get used to, like the size of the veggie that you can place but it does the job and fast. I read other complaints about not being able to get blades in/out or needing instructions but I found it easy to use straight out of the box. The rubber feet keep the container from traveling on the counter. I can easily cut my veggies into smaller pieces than chop away. It comes with quite a few blades/options - I’ve used half of them. It comes with nice holders and makes quick work of food prep. Highly recommend!
This is a very helpful tool in the kitchen. It comes with many different size blades and it is pretty tough, you an cut carrots and celery with it (just be sure the parts you are cutting are small, otherwise you will have to use a lot of strength to push it trough.
I only found two disadvantages to this product: 1- sometimes it is difficult to clean all the small teeth of the upper compartment, and 2 the egg separator doesn't work that well. The rest is awesome!

It works well as a chopper and slicer, but when I attempted to use one of the chopper blades to cut a sweet potato, the blade broke. It made it through the 1st half, but broke on the 2nd. I have emailed Zalik, they just got back to me and are replacing the blade within the next few days. Customer service is great, hope the replacement blade gets to me as promised. Do not plan to use this to chop very tough vegetables like potatoes without slightly cooking them first.
I love the quality of this chopper. I've owned a of couple other brands, but they weren't as robust as this one. I broke one because the plastic was very lightweight, there wasn't that much to it and it wasn't very sharp, so I always had to step on it to get it to chop.The other one was okay but still kind of hard for me to dice things like onions without using a lot of muscle.
But the Zalik Chopper is really great! It's so easy to chop through harder vegetables like onions and cucumbers by just pressing down on the top. The blades are sharp and it works better for me ergonomically. I also like all of the shapes and slicing options it comes with. It's like having a mandoline too.
I absolutely love this! I bought it because I get HelloFresh and I was sick of crying over the onions haha. But really, there is a lot of chopping, slicing, dicing, etc with HelloFresh. I think they have one of these because I never got the prepwork done in their estimated time until I bought this. No more crying over minced onion!
The large dicer attachment diced raw potatoes slices at 1/4in thick and thicker! I was kind of scared I would break the blades because, well raw potatoes are hard. I was also really, really nervous about the mandolin part. But the guard they give is huge and in no way can your fingers get past the guard unless you're doing something wrong!
Only con is it can be hard to clean. Tomatoes and onions get stuck in the top part. They give a little hard cleaning tool, but it doesn't work the best. If you have a brush instead of a sponge to wash it, that would be best because the brush will get in those spaces better.
When I discovered my new allergy to touching onions and any food with any amount of acidity, I was all but ready to quit cooking. Rubber gloves were expensive and sweaty in a steamy kitchen. I found this and it has changed my life. It is easy to use and put together and also to clean. 100% recommend! We will see how sharp the blades are after a few more months.
I have loved having this in my kitchen. It makes it so easy to cut veggies for use in meals. The multiple blades make it easy to get different cuts quickly. My kids have been using it too.
