I bought this to replace the remote that came with a new Samsung Blu ray player, the UBD-K8500. The original remote is poorly designed and nearly impossible to use. The replacement, though an older model, is clearly superior. It makes me wonder why the design was ever changed.

This product is what I needed and came two days early.... !
Because of its larger size it is easier to use that the AK59-00179A that came with my DVD player. Have yet to find any shortcomings.
I bought this to go with one of Samsung’s newest blue ray players because the new remote that came with it has a lot of issues. I think this older version of the remote is great. They should scrap the new ones and only use this model for their newest players.
