VTech VM312-2 Video Baby Monitor with Patrol-Screen Viewing, Night Vision, Talk-back Intercom & 1,000 feet of Range with 2 Cameras

I ordered this when we moved into a new house where the babies' (who am I kidding - pre-schoolers now!) bedrooms are upstairs and at the opposite side of the house from mine. I purposefully looked for a monitor with two cameras (one for each of the terrible twosome). Check! And I wanted to be able to not only hear them when they called for me - but be able to check in with them to see if I could possibly resolve their issues without leaving my cozy bed. Check!

This little system exceeded my needs!

PROS:
- two cameras means that I can put a camera in each room facing their beds. It is easy to switch between the two cameras.
- no worries about them hearing what goes on in MY room - unless I push the talk button. Truly a worry the first day or two. I didn't want to traumatize them... against their will!
- night vision means that there isn't a light that keeps them awake
- the parents' unit wakes itself if the babies stir or make noise. Thankfully, my children sleep like the dead - and no one talks in their sleep.

CONS:
- the night vision is not the best. But it is pretty darn clear (though sometimes a little eerie), for the price.
- the battery life of the parental monitor is VERY low. If I either don't recharge it every morning (even if I've put the screen to sleep all night) OR leave it not charging even when it is off - the battery drains. Fast! And one of the selling points for me was the fact that the parental unit was cordless.
- having to switch between the cameras means that I have to "pick" which child I want to monitor that night. Personal problem, as I believe the cameras were supposed to be in the same room. Easy fix - I rotate by the night... unless one of them is under the weather.

I know that my terrible twosome are not the target audience for this "baby" monitor, but it works perfectly for us. Peace of mind is priceless (or pretty darn low priced - at $88!). Even my cons aren't that serious. Having to remember to recharge the unit every day just becomes another habit like charging. The kids like to be able to say good night into the camera.

And I get to be a fly on the wall - when they forget it's there *(usually pretty sweet interactions between the siblings... USUALLY!).

Absolutly love this monitor!! True it doesnt have the best resolution on the screen but i can see my baby clearly and i can see when he fusses or is coughing perfectly. I love that it came with 2 cameras i have one near his crib and one in the living room where his toys are. The batery last more then a fair amount of time unplugged so im very happy with it!

my wife has late stage alzheimers great to make sure she's in bed and safe one camera in her bedroom one facing the steps feeling a lot safer for her

This isn't perfect, but for the price- you can't beat it. The image on the screen isn't as clear as it would be if you were willing/able to sink a few hundred dollars on a video monitor- but for what I paid for it I'm extremely happy. I have 2 under 2 in separate bedrooms that I want to keep an eye on at night. This allows me to see each of my babies within very short intervals so I am constantly able to monitor if one of them need me. After a few weeks in use, it still works great.

I read tons of opinions and reviews on baby monitors and had the hardest time making up my mind which one to go with. I was still very hesitant while purchasing this. Now, I'm glad I didn't spend a fortune. This Vtech monitor comes with two cameras, which is a great feature, because one can be set up in the nursery and the other one in the living room in the play area. The quality of picture and sound is very decent. The range is very good. No problems with wi-fi either. The only reason I don't rate it 5 stars, is because the battery doesn't last long. Have to have it plugged in at all times.

This monitor works great. Sound quality and picture quality are perfect and the system allows me to monitor two bedrooms at the same time. My only complaint, and reason it did not get 4 stars from me is that it cannot be mounted to the wall. The instructions show that it can be mounted, and it has the holes on the back to be mounted, however, after drilling holes in my wall to hand the monitor, I realized the camera itself is too heavy. Once hung on the wall with the mount the camera slowly pointed down until it would only show the floor. It cannot be locked into place when mounted on the wall. So you have to set it on a dresser or shelf and angle from there.

These are the best baby monitors I have ever owned. We moved into a 2 story house. I was very nervous about my daughter's room being upstairs since she had always been in the room next to mine. So I ordered these to put my mind at ease a bit. The set came with 2 cameras and a monitor where you can see the video feed and switch between the 2 cameras with a click of a button. Easy mounting holes on the bottom of the stands so you can sit them on a shelf or mount them to a wall.the motor also had a button on the front which you can use as an intercom to talk to the child. All three items come with plugs and the monitor comes with a rechargeable battery. The only down side to this product it that the battery in the monitor seems to die quickly but as long as you ahve a plug you are good .

Works great for its purpose without being crazy expensive. I agree with other reviewers that it’s zoom is way too tight unless you are wanting to monitor a very small space like a crib or- I don’t know- the fridge door or something. For my purposes- using for my home daycare, it would be helpful to monitor a whole room so I could maybe go to the bathroom by myself (gasp!) and still be able to monitor the group. But it is super simple to use- my 10 year old set it up for me without even using the directions. You can’t view both cameras at the same time like split-screen style, but you can easily switch back and forth between the two (or more) cameras with just the “parent unit”.

Works great but wish it had longer range outdoors so I can get more outside work and barn work done while the kids are napping. Also, it doesn’t have an alarm to let you know when the battery is going to die and it has died without me being aware while using it.

The range on these are amazing. I had a Samsung baby monitor and I love the vtech 100 percent more. Better range, better battery life, and better sound. This is amazing quality and an amazing price. You won't be dissatisfied
