i work in an industrial setting and i use a ratchet every single day. i have had to replace my craftsman four different times in the past five years, typically for the gear breaking. my lovely "vera zyklop" has only failed me once, and that is after i accidentally dropped it during use and it landed in the wrong spot and broke out the direction lever. the torque it provides is beautiful. they replaced mine for free. if you use a ratchet everyday, this is the one. in fact, my employer is now ordering them to be standard issue.
Best ratchet I've ever had. I'm starting to get a lot more "nice" tools and this is a really great ratchet. The build quality is solid and it just seems like it's a fine instrument rather than a cheap ratchet from harbor freight or even a big box hardware store. Probably won't bust off stuck bolts any easier than a cheap one, but it feels great using it. Sockets stay on well, mechanism works well, the lever action is excellent. Lets you switch direction much easier than cheap ratchets. Great all around.
Based on reviews I decided to try the Wera ratchets. They feel nice to hold, are nice to use and I really like them. No longer use professionally but
wanted to trim down and consolidate to the basics with a good set of 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2". These are very nice.

The small head makes a big difference in certain situations combined with the super fine teeth on the gears. When you have limited space and have big hands, you want a ratchet that can tink tink tink that oil pressure sensor out when it's buried behind the intake manifold next to the firewall.
I go to this now instead of my matco and snap-on ratchets.
My old school craftsman are still me beaters though.
Fine tool you pick it up it feels great. gears are very smooth as you would expect. I bought a set of sk sockets which are also nice but i am partial to the lever and push bottom style ratchets lile my old pre china craftsmans rather the twist and pull type sk provides. These really exceded expectations and are far nicer than my old craftsman

Man, this thing is silky smooth and beautiful. Don't think that means it isn't built for heavy duty work because it feels extremely well built. I'd go so far as to say it is overbuilt. Only con is that it is pretty dang heavy.
Very high quality. Like a lot of German tools, you can expect it to be very meticulously crafted. The finish seems bizarre, but it's durable and is built far heavier than any other ratchet I've seen. The ratchet is smooth and has a precise mechanism. I'm buying all wera ratchets: cheaper than snap-on and higher quality.
One of the best ratchets you can buy, and even better at the price point. Highly recommended.
