I'm a Brazilian quite fond of mate, and live off the stuff. But good, gaúcho-style chimarrão (the name for mate served with hot water and a very fine-grained, almost matcha-like texture) is hard to find in the States. On Amazon, there are maybe three brands where you can buy bulk mate, of which Ximango and Barão are the two most available... and having tried both, I would go with Ximango. It has a strong effect and a delicious smoky flavor with buttery notes --- great on its own, but suggestive of good mixing properties with other teas. I've tried other mates that are more raw and earthy; Yacuy (not available on Amazon) excels in this direction, and Barão is more like that, but gun to my head I'd go with the smoky flavor.
If this is your first time trying chimarrão, watch out; due to its powdery nature, if you don't make it correctly, it will clog your straw, or bomba. This is common for beginners, and can only be avoided by cleverly making space for the mate liquid within the herb --- watch videos online about how to do this. If you persevere, the reward is a powerful coffee-substitute that tastes like few other drinks, a lovely medley of flavor, tradition, and style.
I found the same product on a local supermarket half the price.
I love this Yerba Mate..its very much fresh from this seller, Flexibrace, and this product packs a very nice uplifting heady and body energy. Its my go to breakfast and I couldn't possibly be happier with my experience with this product and with this seller! Thanks again and keep up the good work Flexibrace!!!
Always delicious!
Super flavor. It's very fine so it clogs the straw, but far superior to other mate chimarrao.

Description
Ximango, a true native Brazil erva, was not only grown in Brazil, but grown specifically for the native population of mate enthusiasts, primarily concentrated in the three southernmost states of the country. Conversely, most of the “yerba mate” (read: Gaucho Mate) grown in Brazil, being significantly less powdery and allowed to age for the typical period of several months, is grown for export to neighboring Uruguay.
Great
Fresh enough, i always buy 2 or more and keep in the freezer until i open it. expensive but it is the best one i have found since moved here in 2005.
The best and currently cheapest mate out there. Tastes great, sweet and fresh for yerba mate and every sip makes you glow with exuberance. 10/10
Wonderful! Fresh, rich, excelent quality. I always buy it.
Awesome product, and besides that, it's a tradicional erva mate from Rio Grande do Sul - Brazil. I can't believe that I can have my 'chimarrão' everywhere I go.
