1) The timer in my low-voltage lighting (Malibu lights) died. They cost more to replace than this unit did.
2) We put up outside lights in the holidays, this has 6 grounded outlets that handle 1875 watts @ 15 amps. It's nice to be able to stake this in the yard and know the lights will take care of turning themselves on and off.
I have tried at least 4 outdoor outlets for my front yard spotlights this year. Every one after it got wet in this really rainy season in MD started shorting out the GFI outlet. Put this one in the ground and plugged all the lights in, set the time and voila everything is running great. Love how all the plugs are protected by the cover.
Husband says it is the best timer we have ever had, easy to set up and it is working well for what we needed it for.
I bought two of these for Christmas lights display around my home. I live in a rainy climate during the winter season and didn't want to leave the light connections unprotected. This product does a good job keeping plugs protected from the weather, unlike most other multiple outlets outdoor stands which just have plugs covered if they are not being used. However, one thing I did not like is how difficult it is to get the wires and plugs routed to be able to close the case and the small rubber gasket around the case easily falls out. Overall, I think this product serves its purpose well and is the best product I have used to protect my Christmas light connections. I will hopefully be using it for many years to come.
Given the low price compared to some outdoor timers I have seen, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the build quality and features were pretty good.
I really liked that the cover has spring loaded pieces to keep unused wire holes closed.
My only complaint is that the spike felt a little weak when pushing it into the ground.

Replaced a previous timer which stated weatherproof but not so. This one has 6 plugs and very rigid door to cover all the plugs and the timer itself. I like how they have a mechanism for the cords to go through while covering the plugs from water coming in from below. My only concern is weather proofing and sprinklers. This timer has stood well so far. I recommend this to those who want better weather proofed outdoor timer.
This multi-socket timer was great - I just wish that the cover of the outlet was wider as some items I had plugged into it (i.e. inflatable Xmas decorations) had plugs that were very large. As a result, the cover would not close all the way, and I ended up having to cover the unit with a plastic bag to prevent the rain/snow from getting into the unit. Other than that, works as expected.
Arrived ahead of schedule. Easy to use. Great product for outdoor lights and sprinkler system. Excited to use this for our Christmas lights this year.
Works great, only issue is there are no instructions for setting the on-off time, to set the timer depress the tabs on the outer ring for the range of hours was not as obvious as you would think
Quick delivery. I ordered this mainly for the waterproof cover on the timer. On bottom of the cover, there are 3 movable mechanisms that allow the wires to go out of the cover while keep the timer sealed. It has a new rugged built and I hope it will last.
