These labels are a little thinner stock than the Avery 5160 equivalent, but much less expensive and work very well. I tried using the Avery label "add-on" tool to merge data from a spreadsheet. The labels did not line up at all. I'm not sure if it was an issue with the labels, document setting, or the merge tool. One issue was that the page setup was defaulting to a smaller scale (88%), but even after fixing that, I still had printing issues. I was able to get the page to print properly by manually setting the page margins to: Bottom 0.5, Top 0.5. Left 0.22, Right 0.22. Hope that helps anyone else having issues.
Seems to be a solid label, maybe not the brightest or smoothest of the options out there but a great price and does the job for a basic label. Disappointed to find they have a back slit about 2 inches in on the long side that Did not find mention of in the information section. This will not be good for my use making stickers and I can get better matte labels for that elsewhere though a little more expensive. These will need to be just for my own use.
UPDATE 8/5/18 (a few months later)
Changing my review to a 5 star because I got a new printer (very cheap HP) and I haven’t had any issues with them jamming. I went and bought the new printer after having 4 of these labels in a row jam. I was done with that printer!
ORIGINAL 3 STAR REVIEW
Let me start by saying I LOVE amazon basics brand items. They are just as good as name brand things most of the time.
I’m really disappointed with these half sheet labels. I received them today and I sold something online so I was excited to try them out to print my shipping label on. So I put a single page of these in my printer (I know from experience having too many can cause jams) and as soon as I press print it jams. This is the most annoying part of printing something wirelessly because the convenience factor is now gone. You have to go to the room you’re printing in, open it up, take it out, close it up, then try to print it again and have to stay there and wait for it to print this time to make sure it does. So I did all this. And the second time it did not jam. Yay right? No. It printed misaligned. Good enough I can still use it (hello ink prices, not trying to do it a third time!!).
I’m just so frustrated that nothing can just be easy.
I’m giving 3 stars for the quality being really good, it feels nice, not too thin, and for the fact that the back of them has been marked so it’s easy to tell which is front and which is back. See pics!
Every time I purchase something online, I always check the reviews. I count on others to help me choose the best option. My reviews are always my honest opinion and I try to include photos if possible.

These are the same size and stickiness as Avery 5187. If your DTP or Word has an Avery 5187 template, you will not have to download a template, you will be ready to roll right out of the box. The Labels are backed on a thinner backing paper, which at first, I thought would be bad, But I ran several sheet thought our laser printer from the tray without a jam. Labels did not smudge using a laser printer.
I have a Dymo LabelWriter 4XL, which is a really great thermal label printer! But let's be honest. Using the official Dymo labels are like using toilet paper made of gold. You can get the same job done a LOT cheaper.
Dymo labels run around 8.1 cents per label, which is ridiculous. I found a really decent compatible brand I used for the last several years that were costing me just 4.5 cents per label, which I thought was a great deal. However, these AmazonBasics labels cost just 2.7 cents per label! I was concerned about quality, but I had to try them at that price.
I have had ZERO trouble with them. They installed in my Dymo 4XL perfectly, loaded right up, and the thermal print is dark and crisp. The bar code scans perfectly. They stick firmly to the bubble mailers I have put them on, with no raised corners. I have shipped about 20 packages with these labels so far, and all 20 packages have reached their destination without issue.
And that's really all you need to know. A label's job is to accept a thermal print, and then stick to a package long enough to be delivered to its recipient. These do just that for the lowest price I have found yet!

Description
An Amazon Brand.
Could not tell the difference between Amazon & Avery brand. Just as good. Way less price.
These work fine and bought at a very reasonable price. The one negative review prior to mine has to do with the printer settings, not the labels, LOL. A google search on whatever printer one uses should allow these to print properly if the settings are correct (or read the instructions of the printer). The fact is these labels are as stated and great quality from what I've used.
While the price is good, especially when I got them on sale for about $2.25 a pack around Black Friday. However, they are very confusing to use. The only way to tell which side will be the actual label is by locating a very small black mark on one edge of the paper, which I have discovered is on the backside. I have learned to put an "X" on both the top and bottom of the backside because there is only one black marking. That way, when I print my next label, I know which side is up and which is down. There are instructions included...read them.
A big downside is you can only print one label at a time. You print one (which is a half sheet), take it out, turn it around, put it back in, and print your 2nd label. It's a pain in the butt and wastes a lot of time. If you don't mind, then it don't matter, as they say.
The adhesive on the label/s is good. I have never had any problem with them. I never could find any Amazon labels that have the receipt part at the bottom, so I could use them with Ebay and have the info printed at the bottom for my files.
Hope this helps
I think the most important thing to note about these labels is its PRICE. At the time that I purchased it, it was less expensive by nearly half, compared to the next least expensive item for the same quantity. I use a decent amount of labels as I am always cooking and giving food away. I label the foods and write directions of how to prepare the foods that I give away. I have been using Avery labels for years and I had no issue with them at all. When I ran out, I took a look at the labels that were available and the price of these caught my eye. I've been using them for several months now and really like them overall.
Here are some things that I've noted:
- The adhesive on these labels is STRONGER than the Avery ones I have been using. Many of the Avery labels did not stick very well to my food containers and needed an extra layer of clear packaging tape to stay adhered to my containers. This may partially be because the containers are coming in and out of the fridge and as such, dealing with condensation. But the Amazon labels do not need the extra layer of tape. It stays adhered to the packaging just fine!
- These labels are THINNER than the Avery labels. Not a ton, but noticeable to me.
- These labels are not as bright white as the Avery labels. When compared side by side, (I tried to take a picture, but it was not visible on the picture), the Amazon labels look ever so slightly grey.
Overall, this is a 4.5 star product for me. I would deduct 0.25 star each for the thinner material and slightly off color white, but would still round up to 5. I would definitely rebuy!
I purchased a single roll to test Amazon Basics labels, 4 X 6 inches, 220 labels per roll. I've nearly used up the roll and have had no problems whatsoever. The ones I received definitely ARE perforated and have the "Dymo hole" on the left, which makes them easy to tear from the 4XL printer. If you use these labels with a different printer, your results might vary.
I have had my 4XL for more than 5 years and have used several generic brands of labels with great success. The 4XL model requires the user to correctly feed the end of any new roll into the print slot; if you don't, it will not work and labels can wind around the platen and cause a big headache.
I would buy the Amazon Basics labels again, but I notice that recently the price has fluctuated quite a bit, affecting the competitiveness of the price at any given time. So keep an eye out for the best deal.
