All in all, i have no problem recommending this Royal electric kettle to my friends and family.

This kettle heats water quickly, and looks good doing it. The photos slightly exaggerate how blue the water looks. It's subtler than this, but very cool. My only other comment is that it holds water at full boil for slightly longer than most kettles I've used in the past, which I like.
I previously owned an electric Cuisinart electric kettle (all stainless steel, no glass) that I used several times a day for over 20 years -- I kid you not!! I mourned its passing and doubt that they make them like that these days. I am holding out hope for this one, and if I can get seven years out of it I won't complain. The Zeppoli heats water very quickly and efficiently, has great top loader, and a nice weighted handle.
So far it works great, but I am concerned about the on/off switch, which should be made of heavier metal. I had previously purchased a glass Sunbeam with a similar lightweight switch and the switch failed 18 months later. Sunbeam referred me to a local repair center that passed on fixing it, so they've lost my business.
If the switch fails within a few years I will revise my review.

What a nice looking electric kettle, and the water boils quickly. I like that the glass is not reactive and has no chemical components that contaminate the spring water that I use for beverages. Has an auto shut off that prevents boil dry in case you forget.

This is a Christmas gift to me!! I am so looking forward to using it. I am sure it will be exactly as described, and I can't wait to use it on Christmas Day!!
Well, I got this three days ago in the afternoon. Used it for the first time in cleaning as recommended. First sleepy use the following morning.
1. At nearly 8,000 feet (2,438.4 meters) it takes almost 5 minutes to reach the boiling shutoff point if I fill to the maximum fill line. Now I've used a inexpensive coffee machine for a couple of decades now and literally forgot how good really hot tea could be.
2. This does not have a keep warm feature but a quick reboil gets the water hot if I fill to the maximum fill line in the beginning (less time than the first).
3. I have used this each morning and find that if I fill and heat first thing the rest of my tea water is hot and tasty tea follows.
4. I use tea bags as I enjoy a certain tea in bags rather than messing about with tea machines. I wanted to simplify my morning and feel I have done so.
So, I find this kettle to my satisfaction and think if anyone can benefit from my thoughts so far GREAT! Enjoy and an update if one is needed.
After a week of using this kettle to boil water, I have not had any major issues with it. It boils 1.7 liters of water in an average, 6 minutes. So far, the boil time has been consistent. The materials and workmanship are above average, though there are parts here and there that could benefit from more craftsmanship, specifically, where the handle meets the kettle. The lid stays tight and has a rubber liner on the inside face to keep the water inside from leaking when pouring into a deep bowl or pot. However, sometimes it takes 3-4 hard presses on the button to open the lid to fill the kettle. Not a big deal, but that's where the craftsmanship comment comes into play. The blue ring light is very sharp and bright. It is a solid blue color and not the turquoise color shown in the picture. The kettle auto-shuts off at point of boiling right around the 6 minute mark, as-designed. Overall, this was a good buy and it works exactly the way I would expect with superior materials being evident. I have not encountered the rust issue that was noted in other comments.
