Initially when I received my product I didn't see the tool needed to open the battery compartment. Initially also myself and my friend didn't see the instructions. We tried to open the receiver with our finger nails and a flathead screwdriver but this didn't work. Because of this I was going to return it. However, the manufacturer got back to me within an extremely short time, told me that there was a little 'key' to open the compartments and when I looked around in the little packet and located this and voila, the door opened EASILY! I put the batteries in and tested them all, and they all work. Next step is to try them 'out in the field!' I have one on my pocketbook, one on my keys, one on my cell phone, one on my heater remote and one on my DVD remote. I'll be using these and checking in to share how they work over time.
I left this at my job for all of my coworkers to use as we all lose our keys very frequently especially me. This has been a game changer for me as it sits in my desk and if I happen to loose my keys and not know where I put it I press on the lighted up buttons (mine is red) and it beeps letting me know where it is. Best thing I have bought myself, huge headache reliever. However I do wish that there was an app for it that would let me know where I left my keys at. I just didnt want to spend 20-30 on a tile one with an app I wanted it to be reasonable priced that all of us could use.
I almost returned these, I won’t lie, because I thought they were somewhat bulky to put on items I lose frequently, like remote controls and other small items. I am SO glad I didn’t, I can deal with a not very visually appealing look to my remotes for how much time these save me. I didn’t realize how much time was spent searching for things until I got these. I recommend using a strong double sided tape other than what they provide to stick these to your items. I love this and with the right tape (try Scotch Outdoor Double Sided Tape which has held my RING doorbell camera up on brick siding for six months now) so with this tape, there is no problem with them coming off (the tape oddly comes off easily when you pull but stays on indefinitely otherwise) !
My father is 73 and is always losing something. I got this for Christmas and have not been disappointed. I used the key to install the batteries into the little tags. I then wrapped the gift and placed one of the tags on his keys before opening gifts. The sound it puts off is very high pitched, which was concerning since he has hearing issues and normally can't hear higher pitches, but he was able to hear it no problem. He has already lost his keys several times and have found them no problem. I have now even attached one to my set of keys. It is also a very durable product, as the remote base got into the mouth of the year old chihuahua and still works with several teeth marks in it. Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase and think it is well worth the price!
Great locator system. For me, I used it on 3 different sets of key chains, one on my cell phone, and one on a flash drive. Once in a while, I'm rushing to get to work and forget where I placed my keys, this locator really helps. At night while surfing the web, I set my cell phone to selient mode so I won't disturb the wife reading her book. Falling asleep or in the morning, I sometimes forget to switch it back to ring mode. In the morning, I'm rushing for work and this locator system helps me find my phone anywhere in my home. Both sides of the locator ring and blinks light and has a good range covering my home from any room. I had a Sharper Image brand locator system and that system, I had to walk around the house and be a close range for the system to find the other half and the unit had new batteries. This system comes with key chain loops and two-sided adhesives for more options to attach them to things. I used the sticky pads to attach a unit to my cell phone.

Within 24 hours of putting on my new key finders on my car keys I lost my keys again I somehow tossed them in my hamper, HOW they got in with my dirty shirts and shorts I do not know I would not have looked in the laundry way off my radar as to were they were if not for the key finder I could have lost keys until wash day and could have easily washed and ruined my over priced key fob and my chipped key that I had just replaced a few weeks ago because I lost my key and the fob payed a bit over 120.00 bucks because chipped keys and fobs are very over priced and expensive I have lost my keys more then once so I also had dog tags with a reward and my phone number see photo . I recommend key finders and dog tags they work.
I gave it a 5 because of the pricepoint but in truth it'd be great if the item was designed so that the transmitter could be reverse located or the transmitter base could beep it, too. As someone who used one of the receivers on multiple remote controls this tiny thing is rife for getting lost. I had to use one of the receivers on it just to be safe. It'd also be cool if it came with labels for easier identification when in use.
My mom and I lose our keys all the time so I purchased this to hopefully help in situation and for the price these are definitely awesome they were kind of a pain in the butt to put the batteries in them but after they were all set up they work great
I am a manager for Dollar General. I originally bought these to attach to our scanners so we wouldn't have to search the whole store if one of us sat one down on a shelf somewhere and forgot it. As soon as I got them and tested them out, I decided we should use them as pagers too since it is a pretty big building. If one of us is in the back half of the store or in the stockroom and the other person up front needs help or change or whatever, normally they would have to just come and find us leaving the cash register unattended and sometimes a customer standing there. So, most of the time we have a scanner on us anyway or at the very least I always have my keys (I have one on both sets of my keys too). So...now all they have to do is push a button on the remote and I can walk up to the front instead of them having to search the whole store for me. It has been so amazing and changed the way we do things for sure. I looked into a paging system for a retail business and didnt really find what I was looking for and I bought two-way radios quite a while back but the rechargeable batteries dont hold a charge and when we put disposable batteries in, if we forget to turn them off they go dead overnight. So we have to put new batteries in everyday which is more of a hassle than it's worth...not to mention they can be loud and really annoying. These couldn't have worked out any better. I have one of the biggest store layouts and even when I'm all the way in the back corner of the stockroom and someone pushes the button at the front of the store, it will beep and blink and I instantly know that I am needed up front. They save us a lot of time, energy, money, and keep us from having unhappy customers. They are perfect and I am going to let the other store managers in my district know as well. Thank you so much. We purchased as a gift for someone who has memory issues. We also received a different set from family. This set works great and has helped the person substantially but if you are wanting or in need of more than one set for same household, you'll hear double the sound if someone is searching for a lost item where more than one item has been assigned the same color locator. We discovered this when we were visiting family who pressed their remote looking for a misplaced item that had the same color locator I happened to also have in my pocket.
