Roundup Weed and Grass Killer Super Concentrate, 1-Gallon

This Roundup is a formula that is made for the gardener. In my experience, it takes up to 2-5 days to see the impact of the spraying. Normally I try not to spray around my garden. But I am facing an invasive infestation of hard to kill nutsedge. While round up is not super effective, it is the only safe alternative.

It takes 3-6 treatments to kill nutsedge but everything else is 1-2 treatments. This is not a specific species version so be careful with over spray. Makes up to* 22 gallons. I mix it quiet a bit stronger due to what I’m trying to kill so I get 14ish.

We live in Oklahoma where the grass is more like a weed then actual grass like we had at our home in Washington State. This grass is tenacious to say the least (I think it's Crabgrass) and can survive extreme Oklahoma heat and drought conditions so I was none to pleased when I spent a ton of money and time putting new flowers in our flower bed then laying down a weed block then a bunch of bark mulch only to see this grass come shooting through everything in a couple of weeks.

I bought this particular version of Roundup because it was safer for our flowers in that it would only kill them if I over sprayed Roundup onto them and wouldn't be an issue from it seeping into the soil. At first I didn't think it was working, but after about a week I started to see the sprouts of grass I sprayed getting a bit brown and by two weeks they were dead! I even accidentally got some onto the grass in my lawn and now I have a brown patch where the live grass had been so this stuff really works. If it can work on the grass here in OK I can't think of anything this Roundup couldn't work on. Oh and because its concentrated I expect this one bottle will last me for years so it's a good value too.

As much as I hate what Monsanto is doing to our food crops, I have to admit that Roundup is the only product we've tried that will kill the weeds along our fence lines and open dirt areas where we haven't planted other things yet.

As I mentioned, I hate what Monsanto has done and are still doing to our food supply. Therefore, we've tried everything else we can find to replace Roundup, and so far nothing else is anywhere near as effective at killing weeds.

We killed our front lawn to turn our front yard into a drought tolerant landscape, and we used Roundup to kill the grass and it worked well. Then, because it is taking a couple of years to get it all re-landscaped, we've had to spray a few times to keep the new weeds in submission until we get everything covered with mulch and other stuff. We tried several other products with very positive reviews and the weeds would only get sick, they wouldn't die. So we used Roundup again. And that has been our experience for the past 35 years. Roundup really works, and so far nothing else does, except products that kill everything, on the ground and under the ground, and leave the dirt "dead" for a period of time afterward. Roundup doesn't do that.

If Monsanto would just sell their product to apply to weeds only and stop contaminating our food supply, this would be an ideal product. As it is, I hope somebody, somewhere, can find an alternative that actually works. Until then, I guess I'll keep purchasing Roundup for the purpose it should be limited to: killing weeds.

I've used this product for over 5 years and it always does a great job. Compared to other weed killers on the market this RoundUp (Purple Top) is my 'GO TO' weed killer whenever I want everything dead FAST. It doesn't matter what it is grass, weeds, vines, poison ivy, poison oak this stuff kills whatever you spray it on and it STAYS DEAD, no future growth. The other thing I love about this product is that it only needs about an hour to be effective meaning once you apply this product it all it needs is one hour to become fully resistance to any rain. The finer your spray/mist is when applying it, the better this product works, but no matter how you apply it, it will kill everything. Excellent weed killer.

This stuff works on the acres of weeds I have. I have this love-hate relationship with Round-up but you can't beat its effectiveness on weeds. I've tried the vinegar and salt but it's only works on certain weeds. If you have a large property this is a great product at a great price from Amazon.

This gallon of Super Concentrate is by far the best buy if you have tons of spraying to do. When I apply this product, I can expect the weeds to stay away for about 4 weeks, then it is time to spray again. They advertise that you will get up to 85 gallons of mixed spray liquid out of this gallon, that would be true if you use about 1.5oz of roundup per gallon of water. I tend to go a little heavier to make sure I kill all the weeds, and use about 2 oz per gallon of water.

Stuff works great and definitely likes ALL grasses and roots along with other stupid shrubs and stuff, this stuff with kill basically anything you spray it into just be careful on a windy day cuz the wind will blow this around areas you didn't want dead, I made that mistake and had replace a lotta grass but yeah I highly recommend this for killing weeds, it just sucks that it just kills the weeds and turns them Brown you still have to bend over and pull or pick up the weed and get rid of the weed it doesn't just disappear and die and go away it just dies and turns brown you still have to remove it from the area that it's in you know what I mean if not I wish I could explain it better but I tried but it definitely works for nominal and I highly recommend it especially for the price I picked the small bottle and they mistakenly sent me the big bottle hahaha can't complain about thatπŸ‘ŒπŸ»πŸ˜

What i like about this product is it does not give you overly complicated formulas like many other brands i have tried. It tells the truth that it can take up to 2 days to see results and it does. It also has a clear dilution chart. I use a 15 gallon take on my UTV and i can do my whole front of my campground with one bottle. I would need 2 or 3 if i needed to do the whole property. The weeds and grass stay gone for up to 1 month here in NC. In UT it lasts all spring and summer.

Called the Ortho company and got the scoop on the different Round-up types. Purple cap is for Southwest USA and is formulated for most common weeds here. Could not find it in pre-mixed so I got concentrate. Very easy to use and makes many gallons. Safe around trees and weeds are already turning yellow after 6 hours. Bought a $25 battery pump Flo-Master sprayer and a $12 bottle of marker dye and saved myself over $200 in just one yard treatment!! Thank you Amazon!

I bought this during Prime Day for a great price and am happy to say that I've used the product twice now and it works as described and kills off weeds. I use it primarily for the weeds that grow between the pavers in my sidewalk and driveway and in flowerbeds where I can spray well away from healthy plants. I don't use it near flowers for fear of it damaging healthy plants. It's a breeze to mix up and use in my pump sprayer. I've used Round Up for years and would highly recommend it.
