Got these to help my senior dog get up the stairs better. He would slip and then stand at the bottom because he was afraid of them. These made a world of difference for him. He hasn't slipped since. Well worth the price.
I bought these to replace non-skid strips that did not offer a senior foster dog enough traction. I installed them last night and already she is bounding up and down the stairs. These are heavy and clearly of high quality. I have already recommended these to fellow rescuers.
our senior dog has had problems with our hardwood floors and stairs for a long time. we have tried so many things to help him, but nothing has been as helpful as these. they stay put, feel solid and secure, are comfortable under even bare feet, and look tidy. and no damage to the underlying stairs, unlike most of our previous attempts.
Coming out of the box, these tread covers were slightly deeper than I needed, but I found that they were fairly easy to cut with an everyday box cutter knife and a straight edge. I am not giving 5 stars because the nose of each cover was not adequately angled making it difficult to get them to stay down flush on the stair nose using "industrial strength" double sided tape or adhesive caulk. I installed these on basement stairs to make them safer for my elderly mother. Noses popping up could instead create a tripping hazard. I ended up stapling them to the front of the stair nose, but I may end up just cutting the nose part off and throwing them away. The treads feel good, almost soft, to walk on. They grip very well - it would be pretty much impossible to slip on one of these! I can't speak to durability yet, but in my case, the stairs will not see a lot of traffic. For heavier traffic, you may need the industrial version of these, which costs about 5X as much.
I just installed these on wood stairs out back using 1-inch deck screws. I was in a hurry as another snow was coming and I am trying to get them down before the thaw/freeze cycle begins and I have icy stairs to contend with. So far the dogs and I go up and down with no problem, but will see how they hold up in below freezing temps. Stay tuned.

Description
Rubber-Cal's Coin-Grip rubber stair mats are the ideal safety solution for stairways in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. These durable mats are made of a mixture of natural and reclaimed rubbers, making for very durable products that can endure repetitive physical abrasions from foot traffic, as well as harsh weather conditions such as the sun's UV rays, environmental ozone, and moisture from rainfall. Each pack has six individual step mats that have a 1-inch nose designed to firmly grip onto their individual steps. The defining feature of these non-skid step mats is their coin-patterned surface texture. The coins are circular protrusions that are slightly raised and they are laid out in a pattern that is designed to increase grip and traction for your feet as you go up and down stairways. Rubber already has a natural ability to increase traction. This ability is enhanced by the surface texture present on the step pads. These rubber stair mats are recommend for use on indoor or outdoor steps. Installation is easy with the use of a double-sided tape or the step tread mats can be loose-laid in residential applications.
First, in my opinion these mats must be secured to a step. No installation instruction came and I chose to use rust-proof nails to hold these in place. I probably should have also used construction adhesive but I wasn't sure how I would like them and construction adhesive is fairly hard to remove.
I wish the rubber had been a little thicker and less flexible to make the mats lay flat as I nailed them. But these are nice and should really stop slipping! I'm very satisfied.
We put in new Trex front steps, and they're dangerously slippery when icy or wet. That's a problem, as our condo association includes someone very visually impaired, someone with mobility issues, and an aging dog. We bought these a month ago and they're working well in icy conditions, heavy enough to stay still the vast majority of the time. When the weather gets dryer and warmer, we'll have a handyman use some kind of silicon glue (?I think that's what he suggested) to affix them, as they do move just a bit when your boot hits just right.
We got them because I have hardwood steps and my dogs are getting older. I am always afraid they'll slip and fall. It has been great for my dogs and for us. I can walk down the steps in socks again 🤣
Got these for the steps from the garage into the laundry room. They are great! Gives some traction on the steps and they look good too!
The stairs to my deck had been painted (new home). Paint doesn't hold up to traffic and the wood was deteriorating as well. I used these to provide a resilient, relatively slip-free and tough surface to preserve the deck treads. They do all that. Price is fair, there is no adhesive, so a user can tack them on, or the option I selected was to run a few beads of adhesive caulk under them. Did the job.
