Nicely Neat Wine Saver Vacuum Pump Preserver With Date Marker, Professional Grade

Works well at preserving the wine.

Pros:
* Day number function is useful for marking when you opened the bottle
* Creates a nice vacuum for the wine
* The pump indicates its done by not letting you press the button any further down since it will stay down, this in a sense makes its footprint a little smaller
* The seal is air tight allowing wine to be stored sideways (Necessary if storing in some fridges due to lack of height)
* Despite making it air tight, the cork was easy to pull off, meaning the muscle man can take a chill pill.

Cons:
* Makes the wine bottles significantly taller which can make it a bit more cumbersome storing white wine in a fridge
* Day number indicator moves around a bit too easily which can leave an inaccurate day If handled too much.

I love it.
This is far better than the other vacuum pumps where you insert plastic/rubbers caps into the bottle and pump them manually. I always had issues with regarding the fit. Not with this one, Once attached to the bottle I pumped the air out and came back 2 days later and the seal was still tight and vacuum was perfectly maintained.
I would buy another one soon. Plus it also looks good on the bootle

This pump puts a good seal on the wine bottle. May I suggest not submerging this pump in water for cleaning. The water gets trapped in between the little pump and base and takes forever to dry out.

Does a nice job!

I was so excited to receive this product. I drink a lot of wine and am always concerned about it going bad in a day or two when I recork left overs. This product says I don't have to worry about that so I put it to the test. The product came wonderfully packaged and individually wrapped. They also included some directions (not a lot of products do this). I popped open a bottle of wine and used the stopper.

First thing to note when doing this is to make sure you insert it completely vertically or you will not be able to get the air out of the bottle. Once the pump was inserted, I pushed the center button down a couple of times and the stop wouldn't rise again. The instructions say that means the air is all out of the bottle.

Next, I pulled off the stopper, poured a glass, and then put the stopper back on. This time I had to pump about 4 times before the top stopped rising. I also tested putting the bottle back in my wine fridge and holding it upside down. No leaks!

Final feature which was a bonus for me. There is a dial at the top that lets you select the date you opened the wine. This way, you know exactly how long it's been open instead of doing a yucky taste test. I was able to set the dial to today's date and other dates. The dial didn't move back after setting it.

I love this product. I will be buying more for friends in my wine club as gifts.

I have been wanting to get one of these wine preservers for quite a while. As the only person in my house who drinks wine, I often don't have any unless we have guests. I'm a lightweight and can't handle more than one glass, and I've thrown away a ton of rancid wine because I couldn't drink it fast enough. This thing is awesome!

I tried it out on my large bottle of Woodbridge wine and it fit like a charm. You just put the stopper in, pump the button on the top until it gets really difficult (then the air is out) and then turn the dial to the date you opened it. This keeps wine fresh for up to 7 days (I only drink white wine, so I can't tell you about red). I am so thrilled to have this, because now I can enjoy a glass of wine in the evening without worrying about waste.

I did receive this product at a discount in exchange for my honest review. This means two things: a. I did PAY for it! and b. I'm obligated to leave an HONEST review. Listen, I regularly rip products that deserve it. I shop on Amazon too and rely heavily on reviews. I take this seriously. There is nothing more annoying than a 5 star review for a 1 star product. I hope this is helpful to you. If so, please click the "helpful" button below.

I've been using this vacuum sealer for about a week and am very happy with it thus far. I had previously owned a similar product that was misplaced in a move, so I ordered this as a replacement. I actually like this one much better than the one I previously owned. It features a date feature that allows you to mark the day you opened the bottle, so you know when it is likely to expire. I find that most wine easily lasts 5-8 days when sealed, and bubbly wines lasts about 3 days.

I received this at a discounted price for product testing and review. I am under no obligation to provide a positive review and receive no incentives or rewards for doing so. My goal is to highlight features and drawbacks that I would want to know about as a buyer, not praise the product for the manufacturer unnecessarily. My feedback is sincere. I work very hard trying to write meaningful and thoughtful reviews for each item. I hope that these reviews will be helpful to others. Would you please let me know how I am doing by voting “Yes” if you think that my review was helpful to you? If it was not, please comment with how I can improve. This will help me to be able to write more helpful reviews in the future. While it is true that many items are received at discounted rates or complimentary rates, I strive to give a completely honest review and my personal experiences with the product. Again, it is just my opinion, your own thoughts or opinions may vary. I received no monetary compensation and am not required to give positive reviews for any product and would not endorse any product I would not personally use. In terms of analyzing value, I always consider whether I would consider the item a good value at the current listed selling rate, and do not consider any discount I may have received. I like the fact that this vacuum pump wine sealer is a very well made high quality product. The outside is made of brushed stainless steel, not some cheap plastic, so it looks very nice on your bottle of wine. This little pump makes a nice airtight seal on your wine bottle with the very first pump. Then, depending on how full or near empty your bottle is -- you will need to do more pumping. I once owned a plastic pump very similar to this design that worked with 2-liter soda bottles, and they work very, very well. It doesn't require too much pumping if you've only had a glass or two of wine. But if have finished more than half the bottle, you are going to need to do quite a bit of pumping. But, definitely worth it for a good bottle of wine.

I purchased this pump sealer specifically because I like sparkling wines like Muscato, but we only drink a glass, or two -- not an entire bottle. So it has been working well for this purpose. Keeps it nice and bubbly even though it has been a couple of days since we first opened it. So, this little wine sealer paid for itself in just one use. When you have a $12 bottle of Muscato, and you can enjoy it twice, instead of just once -- that 2nd day was a gift, because without this pump there is no second day for sparkling wines. Even with regular non-sparkling wines, It's amazing how quickly wine can go from being really great to completely flat and lifeless. I did receive a discount on this product for writing a review but it does not affect my opinion of the product. I purchased the wine vacuum pump because it was a product I needed and had been looking for. I am very happy with my purchase. I only rated it 4 stars out of 5 because it does add additional height to your wine bottle, which makes it harder to stand upright in the fridge. I usually just deal with this with storing the wine bottle sideways, tilted up, down in the fruit and vegetable section of the refrigerator. Although it says on the enclosed directions that you can safely store the wine bottle flat on its side with this pump.

Essentially, this is a reusable vacuum sealer for your bottle. Skip to the bottom to see how this thing works.

The intended use was to be used to preserve your wine when you have not finished it after opening it (but I have found that this device works well on other drinks as well). Standard wine stoppers usually do not do a very reliable job at preserving the taste of the wine and when they do, it does not hold up for too long before it starts getting that bad taste.

Now, I have only tested this vacuum sealer for the bottle of wine for 4 days max before finishing the wine. It did a pretty good job. However, I have used this vacuum sealer on a glass bottle of coke and the coke did not lose much of the fizz. Pretty cool! I guess this thing works on most glass bottles as long as it fits.

I also tried it on plastic bottles such as water bottles but for some reason, I believe either the threading on the top of the bottle or there is not much space to allow the vacuum sealer to fully grip the bottle that makes this not too effective.

HOW IT WORKS…

So initially, you place this vacuum sealer on the top of the bottle. Then you press down on the movable part and keep pumping it till the movable part stays down (I gave it about 5 to 6 pumps). It will not stay down completely. Usually it will stay about halfway.

You will notice when you take it off that you will feel the suction. The suction is actually pretty strong. I was able to hold the vaccum sealer without touching the bottle and I was able to lift the bottle (with a bit of wine inside of course).

It is easy to wash (note the gloves), however, getting the smell off without transferring it to the other bottle is a bit more challenging. And so is reading the tiny text on the instruction sheet.

I love this little pump, it helps keep my Muscato d'Asti and sparkling peach wine crisp and bubbly for days. I have not attempted to turn this on its side, but it works just fine upright. I just stick it on the bottle and pump it a few times until the pumping mechanism becomes harder to work. The more empty the bottle = the more pumps. This is my second wine pump. I like that this has the added feature of a date indicator. Most of my bottles of wine don't last that long, but I do think it's a thoughtful addition. I love this so much that I'm going to grab an extra one for my mom, it makes a great gift. Highly recommend.
