OK, I have to say. We have had our eyes on the Tegu magnets for a while,but didn’t really pull the trigger on them since they are very, very expensive. The box is nice and well thought out as it allows you to see all of the parts that are included in the set.
SET: The parts are simply gorgeous, very smooth wooden finish with a perfect paint job.
COLOR: The colors are quite bright and the set has a nice palate match.
MAGNETS: Even thoughIt the magnets are inside of the wood (in some crazy magical way) honestly the strength of them and how the wooden pieces tightly attach to each other make you feel as if you are playing with regular magnets. Super strong.
What is also great is that these sets are compatible with each other, like with a LEGO set. So you can be additional sets, or plain Tegu sets and come up with endless ways to play. I don’t want to sound like I work for Tegu or something because I sure don’t. But I and my kids absolutely LOVE these and will be buying some more hence the recommendatory review.

Tegu is a wonderful toy company that manufactures their products in Honduras using sustainable practices. Sure this is on the pricey side for a set of blocks, but fair manufacturing simply costs more. You are paying for fair labor, sustainable environmental practices, and safety regulated materials. As consumers, every dollar spent is a vote and these are all things that I can get behind! I don't buy toys for my children that are plastic and/or made in China and have come to accept the higher price tag that comes with this choice.
This set of magnetic blocks is wonderful for fostering open-ended play, which is so important for young children. The faces are a great addition to the Tegu brand so that children are able to truly create anything they desire. My only wish is that there could be a different face on each side of the block (there is only one painted face and the other side of that block is blank) in order to allow more play possibilities.
Kids can start using this set as soon as they can grasp the blocks, since there are no small parts. The blocks in this Sticky Monster's set are sturdy and vibrantly colored. I would say the colors are true to the description, fun, and engaging.
I see this Zip Zap set as an expansion to the classroom set from Tegu. My 4-year-old son and one-year-old daughter play with this Sticky Monsters set, and other small Tegu sets, in conjunction with the Classroom set daily. The classroom set is large and has an array of blocks that allows for your child to build anything they can imagine. I would highly recommend the Classroom set as a first Tegu purchase.
We own several sets of Tegu and I just ordered a set of Tegu wheels to add to our collection. The newest addition of Tegu magnetic wooden blocks are silly monster friends with personality! The wooden blocks are high quality and smooth. I found the kids just manipulating them in their hands when they aren't building. I have often said that Tegu blocks help get the fidgets out. Great for taking to a restaurant or playing with at home. We have monsters and blocks up and down our refrigerator. All of the sets are interchangeable and totally compatable. I have added some pictures of Zip Zap as well as others that include some of our collection. Also note: This series of blocks is a great way to talk about feelings! Is Zip Zap sad or happy when he is playing with Marbles? Great way to get your children engaged! I just want to add in here that the monster heads themselves do not stick well to the refrigerator without supporting blocks underneath. They are too heavy for their magnets alone. I have added a picture below to show you!
