This magazine is a truly good resource for those who are early in their foray into video. And their email and online resources offer a little extra information and training in various areas of video making.
Nice to have a print publication for the enthusiast. Good articles with an emphasis on gear and technique.
The best magazine for up and coming filmmakers. Nobody rivals them.
Videomaker helps amateurs look before they leap into video production. Many of Videomaker's articles address video production techniques and issues. Many Videomaker articles are professional / prosumer video gear and computer reviews; learning professional equipment capabilities and complexity is worthwhile but the equipment costs are sobering. Videomaker also advertises book and DVD tutorials covering all aspects of the video production business. There are few mid-level articles for knowledgeable amateurs, but some Videomaker articles address video basics (e.g., lens selection criteria and video format characteristics).

Great magazine
this was a gift for my uncle BUT he says it's an awesome magazine. This was an easy way for me to renew his subscription as a Christmas gift.
"Computer Videomaker" is a fairly slick magazine for hobbyist and advanced video makers. For the subscription price it is a good value, but can be a little light on serious content from month to month. The reviews and "how to" sections are usually well written and informative.
I also like Dv Magazine (for professionals).

Nice video magazine... Looking forward to the next issue!
Text books are great, but outta date.
I get the best information from trade magazines. In my opinion, this has always been the best for the Videomaker. I first subscribed in 1998 when I jumped into the Avid world of NLE. Still relevant each month.
