Not to be confused with or classified amongst such boyish rags as GQ, Esquire magazine is the broadest sweeping ode to the American man we have in periodical print. In no other magazine will you find the compendium of practical information, raw investigative journalism, summation of one(usually prolific) man's life lessons (See 'What I've Learned- every issue ever), a great work of short fiction, thoughts on life, money sex, work, kids, politics, etc... and even what one might wear if one was a narrower, Ryan what's-his-face type fellow instead of a 5'7 275lb man-bear. It's hard to cram into a short review what they cram into an issue of Esquire and even harder to explain how others just fall short, but for my money, if you had to subscribe to just one, this is it.
Good all around magazine for men
Esquire is a solid print magazine but do be prepared for ads on ads on ads. I don't think this takes away from the overall content of the magazine but something you should be prepared for. As far as the most important question regarding magazine subscriptions, no I would not pay the newsstand price per issue. Heck, I don't think I would even pay $25 a year for it. That however is not a knock against Esquire but really magazines in general. There are only one or two magazines I would do that for: The Atlantic being one of them.
Have been a subscriber for a number of years. Lots of interesting articles, not just a check out this hot chick magazine (although there are a few of those to satisfy you too). My delivery has been spotty. Once I got two magazines on the same day. Often I see them on the newsstand before my mailbox. that's a little disappointing.

GOOD
I'm unsure why I had not found out about Esquire earlier. It's a great magazine all around. From fantastic articles about things you normally wouldn't see in stuff like People, or even Time. Also included are stories about some of the best actors and icons in American entertainment. They may not be responsible for world changes, but they're important in their own respect. Much like Playboy, some of the best fiction writen can be found between the covers of Esquire. This magazine has tidbits of information to help the normal man survive in the real world. It gives tips on how to make first impressions on the most improtant people you may encounter. Overall, it's a great magazine whether you're looking for helpful hints, interesting reads, great stories, or just plain fun.
Good magazine.

I like the articles and clothing suggestions. I'm getting too old for muscle mags!
