BONMIXC Bike Pedals, 9/16" Cycling Three Pcs Sealed Bearing Mountain Bike Pedals

BONMIXC Bike Pedals, 9/16

I am giving a Five Star Rating to a product that I had to replace after just a few rides! The Bonmixc Bike Pedals were easy to install on my 2014 Trek 7.2 FX 700c hybrid bicycle, and they looked and felt great. The pedals were solid and very comfortable. I wanted larger pedals than the Trek original pedals for a more comfortable ride. Unfortunately, the larger pedals' leading edge scraped the road surface during tight turns, causing me to almost losing control of my bike on two occasions. One of the pedals sustained minor damage during the turns. I contacted Bonmixc to explain my safety concerns and my desire to return the pedals. I acknowledged that the quality of their pedals was not as issue, but the larger pedals were not compatible with my bike as it turned out. The response from Bonmixc was tremendous! They sent an email reply immediately and apologized for the inconvenience, which was not warranted because I felt more at fault for not ordering the correct pedals. Within hours, Bonmixc gave me a full refund via Amazon Prime. I couldn't be more pleased with Bonmixc! I will definitely look to them for bicycle accessories in the future.

UPDATE 11 months later: The left pedal broke due to fatigue. It lasted several jumps and climbs, but didn't resist my 270 lb (280 with equipment). Could have been much worse, if it failed on a jump. Still I'm moving on to something more robust (Shimano Saint). If you're a lighter rider and do not ride agressively, you may take the risk of having off-brand pedals, but looks like I'm not one of those people.

UPDATE 10 months later: These are still going strong. Just came from a trip to Bentonville-AR and had a blast. These pedals make a great pair with the Five Tens.
--------------
Most of the reviews here were posted (no offense) by casual riders, so my first impression was that these would be not-as-good for a mtb rider. Still I decided to try, as I'm done with clipless pedals. I only rode these on a trail in Texas (no DH here, lots of single tracks), but felt these pedals very assuring when used along my Five Ten shoes. Main difference is that the position you set foot on the pedal, will stay that way until you lift foot, while clipless allow for some movement. I only wished the pins were more distributed over the surface of the pedal, but this is not a real problem.

Back to the case, I hit a few roots, and can't see any dents on the pedal, so I assume the material (aluminum) is good and thermically threated. Bearings are supposed to be sealed, but I can't say without disassembling the pedal. But these roll very easily.

I feel these are very good, but not great, replacement bike pedals. Worth noting, is that I'm not a hardcore cyclist. I'm actually just getting back into the sport after a 15 year college and partying induced hiatus. One of the more annoying changes as far as hardware goes, is the fact that nice bikes no longer ship with nice pedals, or any at all. I guess the assumption is that everyone will be replacing them.

As far as a replacement to a stock pedal, they do a decent job. They're pretty much better in every way, except weight. Right out of the box, they felt well-built and were nicely machined. Furthermore, the spindle/axle was smooth and rotated freely.

Weight-wise, they're not the lightest things in the world. Coming in at 230 grams each they're actually a little heavier than my 156g stock pedals.

Grip-wise, they could be better. I ride in running/training shoes, not cycle specific flats or anything. That said, I was slipping all over the place on the stock pedals, noticeably less-so on these. But honestly, I was hoping for a little more. I think another couple bolts down the center would do the product good.

Overall I'm satisfied, but not blown away or anything.

***My Rating Criteria***
5 Stars: Works exactly as advertised, fit/finish are what you'd expect when purchasing this type of product AND it is a good value
4 Stars: Works exactly as advertised, fit/finish are what you'd expect when purchasing this type of product, might have a minor flaw
3 Stars: Generally works but I'd change a few things
2 Stars: Barely works but can be made useful if you try
1 Star: Useless, does not perform it's intended function whatsoever and is generally a waste of money

My brand new (to me) Specialized Hardrock Sport came with a broken petal, so I immediately used that as an excuse to pick up these pedals.

My main desire while looking for pedals were to have something a little more grippy on my feet for switchbacks/trail riding, These don't have as many pins as some other models, but where they are placed counts the most. Pins located on the edges give my 11 sized foot great grip around the bends and I can put my whole weight on the pedal without feeling a bulge in the middle of the pedal where the bearings are. The pedal is overall very flat and much larger than stock pedals (see picture).

I've gotten tons of compliments on them because they are a bright pretty blue. A lot of pedals that are blue appear to be much darker, these are different and a lot of riders have commented on them.

I've biked over 20 miles of trails and countless more on pavement. In my opinion, these are worth the $30ish I paid for them. If your looking for a good pair of flats, give these a shot.

I love these. So much better than the stock trek peddles. They are wider and have a bigger overall size. You need a very thin paddle wrench to remove stock paddles. But these have an Allen head bolt to tighten if you don't have the wrench (but you need it to get off the stock peddles?) Would highly recommend.

Still going strong after a few hundred miles. I love how well these grip my shoes, they never slip off! Amazing product.

My rating is not on the bike pedals - My review is on this company's outstanding customer service. The pair I received had developed a squeak on my first ride. My fear of buying online is that returning or exchanging a product will be a costly hassle. BONMIXC puts customer service first and did an outstanding job resolving my problem. I think there is always a chance that a product will be defective - it is the nature of manufacturing that occasionally a defect might slip through QC. What is really important, however, is how a company responds to customer complaints. 5 stars to this company - they did everything right and made sure I was completely happy with the resolution of my issue.

Not bad at all... Very comfortable and a large platform for your paws! Just like other reviews, one of the pegs did come out on the first or second ride. But I got some lock-tight (SP?) and haven't lost any since. Would buy again.

Really pleased with these. I was a little unsure as I couldn't attach my toe strap, but they really do keep my foot gripped and I am quite happy.

Arrived before the due date! Very nice quality! Way better than your stock pedal, and they look great. I'm very pleased with the quality and the extra pins are a bonus! Looking forward to many miles on these solid , well made pedals. Don't hesitate on buying these

I am an urban cycler for the most part and these have been great fore me. The little studs add just enough stability and dont ruin your shoes. Very tough. Highly recommended.
