Received this item a few days ago and have been using this non stop since. I have a Samsung Galaxy s6 and as most knows does not have an sd card slot (what a mistake on Samsung's part) great for the seller of this product. I plugged it into the phone with a sandisk 32G thumb drive and it has been working like a charm. I had upgraded to the 64G storage but it's proven not to be enough with all the damn videos, photos and apps I download. This little plug makes moving files so much easier and great for temporary music/video files to play off of the usb drive so I don't have to download/move them to the phone. Also, there was nothing to download to make this work. The phone recognized the drive immediately.
The only Con is using this burns through the battery. I'm sure there is an OTG cable out there that can charge at the same time but you can't beat a 3 pack for this price. I really like using this product so I will probably go out there and look for a more expensive cable that does just that but having 3 of these as back ups now is fine and also an inexpensive way to test it out to see if it's right for you.
The reason I ordered this was to play movies and TV shows from my external hard drive to my media players (Kindle Fire HD 8 and Moto E4) duringlong car rides for vacationing this summer. I was surprised to find out that even on these low-end Android devices I use for media playing, this adapter even allows me to run my 250gb external hard drive! As for the product itself, it seems sturdy and the ports aren't too snug or too loose, they're perfect. I'm excited to put them to use and couldn't be happier with the product or the service (they emailed me to make sure all is well).
I have two tablets that do not have any USB connections. these micro USB (where you charge it) to standard USB female lets me transfer or save information from or to a memory stick. As an author I always have ideas for a new book or for portions of a book I am working on. This lets me get that information easily to my main computer.
I bought this affordable 3-pack of adapters so that I could plug a generic USB mouse into my smart phone and navigate with the mouse pointer to recover pictures and documents. Worked like a charm, and there was no delay or prompt interaction before I was allowed to use it - which I was worried about prior to the purchase. Other phones may vary in this detail, but both my Oneplus One and my friend's Samsung Galaxy 7 allowed for immediate use.
I also tested putting some HQ videos and music onto a USB and plugging it in and was quickly able to enjoy them, which is especially useful on plane rides/vacations.
Honestly, there's so many things you can plug in and use with this and it's such a good price, it basically more than pays for itself.
I usually don't like to buy electronic cables online because it's difficult to ascertain whether the connectors will actually work with my hardware. In this case I needed to connect a Verbatim Mini Optical Travel Mouse with an Amazon Fire HD 10 Tablet with a five-inch cable. The travel mouse required a USB 2.0 female connector, and the tablet required a micro USB male connector. When I ordered the Rankie cables, everything looked right ... but it was really just a guess because I couldn't actually see them next to my hardware components. I was using some OTG hubs to attach a wifi adapter to my Pi Zero, but would quit working a day or so after starting. I've been using these on two Pi Zeros for 3 days and have had no problem. They are molded connector style cables and the quality seems fine. One reviewer seemed to have reliability problems in his application, but I do not think most people would experience that issue. Others had difficulty with the fit. I found them to fit snugly into the connectors, perhaps the others had problems with particular device configurations or external cases. No problems, good compatibility, good value.
These adapters worked very well for my Dell windows tablet. I needed to add a thumb drive to the tablet (to do a Windows update) and this adapter did the trick. No reason to spend the extra money for a product that did the job for half the price. The zip-lock bag that came with the 3 pack was an added nice touch.

I kept thinking I needed whole new specially made controllers for my many electronics but this adapter changed all that. I now can use my gaming controller and wireless mouse on different systems even my phone! And it's all thanks to this adapter, getting 3 of them is even more awesome in case one of em breaks or I need to lend an adapter. 👍
Perfect OTG cable for your Google Nexus Player or any other device that needs an OTG cable. I had got one locally but it was an L shaped connector and didnt fit on the Google Nexus Player. So this OTG cable from Amazon works. I now have spares.
The OTG cable works wells to power a wireless keyboard. :)
