Keep in mind that RID Warrior Soundwave and that big grey gun Blurr had in some of the pictures I provided obviously won't be included with Blurr. All you'll get is Blurr and his translucent blaster.
Anyways, it's an overall decent toy. Even with the directions having been ripped off of the box of mine, the transformation is one of the easier ones. Although I could see some being nitpicky about Blurr's robot mode legs and pelvis being visible from the car mode's windshield. I also agree that it could use more paint apps, but oh well.
The knees on my particular figure are a bit loose, but you can pull off cool poses if you're patient. Also, Blurr's big shoulders can get in the way of poseability, but you can get somewhat improved shoulder articulation if you adjust the windshield section of the backpack accordingly.
The provided weapon can go into one of three pegholes on the car mode - one next to both back wheels and one on the car's roof. The roof moves to his back and the back wheels become his shoulders when transforming back into robot mode, which gives access to two pegholes at his hands.
Accessories with the right size peg from other Transformers toys can fit into the pegholes as well, allowing shenanigans to ensue, such as mounting not only Blurr's own gun, but also having RID Warrior Soundwave's shoulder cannon and DOTM Skyhammer's Mech-Tech weapon all on the car mode! Be warned that some accessories might need a bit more force than expected to fully secure them into the pegholes.
Although do be warned that his arms can be popped off at the shoulders, and his legs can be pulled off at the thighs. But they do reattach with ease thanks to them being ball jointed.
In regards to the torn packaging issue, I have a nagging suspicion the seller for my particular one, WDG Enterprises, might have had a part in that. Or it could've been a mishap that occurred during shipping. Who knows? Cross your fingers that something similar or worse doesn't happen to you.
In conclusion, I think this is a relatively cheap option to add another character to your Transformers collection, or perhaps serve as the start to a newcomer's collection. Maybe you're like me and are getting back into the franchise after a while, or you're a parent buying this for their kid.
Got this for my 4 yr old son as his first "big boy" transformer. He's been playing with the rescue bots for about a year and loves them so we decided to start the transition to the more complex ones. This is definitely more complex. This guy has some pretty loose joints which really make my kiddo work at getting him transformed. He struggled the first couple of times but had now become a pro. Excellent fine motor skill and hand eye coordination practice! He will definitely be getting more!
Also another item to buy for stocking stuffer for the kids. They have not gone out yet. Kids still love these transformers. Would commend them all.
My sons love transformers and this was just another to add to the tons they already have as a stocking stuffer. My only complaint is that the arms and legs pop off when trying to go back and forth from robot to vehicle. They just pop right back on.
