If you grill with charcoal or wood on a regular basis then this tool falls under the category of a thing you've always needed but never thought about looking for one to buy. I've been grilling with some sort of charcoal grill at home and in parks for most of adult life and like an idiot I always find myself stirring the hot coals my tongs and then wiping them clean. Having never seen this tool in a store, so it wasn't on my mental list of must haves. Since buying one, I find it indispensable! It is all steel and a solid, one piece construction. This tool should last your lifetime and beyond.
Very solid product and it should do the job exactly as expected. My only complaint is the open seam on the bottom of the handle. It's very sharp and could easily cut you if you aren't careful. Definitely wear a glove when using this. Personally, I'm going to hit the edges with my Dremel and smooth it up so it's safer to use. My rating is actually 4.5 stars because this is a very minor gripe about an otherwise great product.
If you grill/bbq with charcoal, this is one of those 'toys' that you always put off getting but once you do you're very happy that you did. I pushed off this type of product for a number of years and used my grill tongs to move coals around. Using the rake makes it easier to move and mix your coals around which saves a lot of time but also helps you create that two-zone or three-zone setup. Great product.
Worked exactly as described. Extremely useful when using the rotisserie which has higher sides and requires a drip pan. Using this tool makes the drip pan clearance a snap.
Why spend money on a charcoal rake? If you grill often, it’s easy to recognize when you burn your hands or just burn off all the hair on them using tongs or other make-shift tools to arrange coals in a charcoal grill.
I’ve used this with a Weber 22” grill and wished I bought it many years ago. The handle is over two feet long, so you can rake/arrange coals without exposing yourself to burns from th high heat charcoal is best known for.

I love this charcoal rake! Never are my hands burned when I go to spread out my charcoals. This has the perfect length to keep my hands out of the grill while you spread out coals. This will last me a long while as it's made well. Very sturdy and tough. Love it!
I've been grilling for about 2 decades. I never thought I needed one of these. I finally bought one. Now I look back all those times I was jabbing around the charcoal with various utensils and wish I had a charcoal rake then.
Totally not necessarily, but if you grill any decent amount you will use this. It's very sturdy too so it should last.
nice quality - should last forever
Has a good look and style. I would prefer it to be a few inches longer and they could use thicker metal to keep it from bending. Mine was bent in the middle when I removed it from the shipping box.
Easy to straighten but just as easy to bend again.
I got tired of moving hot coals using garden tools so I finally did the right thing and purchased this coal rake. It is a nice looking design and works well to spread my smoker coals as needed. I hope that it won't rust if exposed to moisture but time will tell.
