Purchased as a gift for someone who enjoys serious, in depth, factual reading material. He rarely approves of magazines, but he was delighted with the subject matter and the price. He received an immediate request to "extend" the subscription, which he appreciated so much more than the word "renew"; the price was still very good, so he did extend it. Highly recommended, after just one issue. He voraciously read and passed it around to friends, then took it to the VA hospital to share with those in waiting rooms. Glad it's available on Amazon, never seen it on B&N magazine rack.

FINE magazine for archeology of this geographic area. Great pictures and in-depth articles on findings with bibliography and reference for cross checking data. HIGHLY recommended for anyone interested in TRUTH about Bible stories and Lands, to get FACTS that illuminate what many think is fiction. The Editor has been doing this research for decades, and I subscribed for years. It helps to have actual photos and detail about referenced places in the Hold Land, et al. Not always from a religious POV, but balanced to allow the reader to make decisions.
I've subscribed to Biblical Archaeology Review for over three decades, and find almost every issue chock full of interesting and sometimes provocative articles. I'm grateful that it's written so I, as an informed layperson, can better comprehend the field. The photographs and drawings are outstanding and truly helpful to the issues discussed in the articles. I'm happy that when I travel around Israel this magazine has given me a better understanding of the history and importance of the places I go.
