I wanted to buy some more organic looking blocks for my three young block-loving kids so I purchased these. First, the description is wrong. These do not come with bark (which was what I wanted), they are sanded on all sides. Other than that, they are nice. They come in a nice canvas bag with a tie to close it (one nitpick - I wish it was a drawstring instead of a tie that detaches - that tie will end up lost at some point - although easily replaced with a bit of rope or string). My four year old gets a little frustrated that they don't stack as stable as our other blocks because they have a more organic shape but I think they will have fun the more they get used to these unique blocks. They are similar in color, weight and finish to the Melissa & Doug Standard Unit Solid-Wood Building Blocks With Wooden Storage Tray (60 pcs) which we also own (and would recommend to anyone looking for a nice, basic block set). Overall I am happy with them and now that I have them in hand, I'm kind of glad they don't have the bark attached as that would probably end up making a mess around the house. I was under the impression that they were made in the USA, though now that I look I can't find that in the description, so maybe I just assumed that. They are made in Vietnam. I will also say that I purchased them for under fifty dollars and they are currently well over that price. I think they are a bit on the expensive side for what you get (and I say that as someone who has spent hundreds of dollars on Grimms colored blocks).
Fun addition to any block set. Smoothly sanded, very nice.
