Just for reference, I'm 145 pounds, in my 30s, and my right leg is amputated at the knee.
This is by far my favorite shower chair - I've been using them since 2012, and I've had 3.
1. I like that there aren't suction cups on the bottom - I don't need them, and it makes taking the chair out of the tub very easy for cleaning and for other people. Depends on the tub, but mine is perfectly wedged in there - i'm not worried it's going anywhere.
2. It feels very stable - i definitely prefer the stocky plastic legs to the creaky metal ones. I have it lowered to the lowest height.
3. it's easy to keep clean. in my experience, suction cup legs trap water, which creates mold, which is another reason i don't like them. screws and rivets and things also trap water - this chair has none of that.
4. It's very easy to assemble (and disassemble if you're traveling)
5. It's pretty unobtrusive looking, as shower chairs go.
Very sturdy and solid, not flimsy at all. So easy to assemble that a blind monkey could do it in 10 minutes.
Got a big butt? Tired of those small flimsy shower seats you usually see? This one is made for you.
I must admit that my rear end isn’t exactly petite, well maybe one side by itself but this is the first time I have felt that the stool was made for me and my rear end. The other nice thing is that it won’t rust or accumulate mold either.
Highly recommend.
Having balance issues, I wanted a tub chair that allowed me to sit and wash my feet, safely. I weigh 130 lbs, and this is quite sturdy for me, much thicker vinyl than, say, a typical cheap white stackable patio chair. I would guess it will safely hold to about 250 lbs. The feet are each adjustable by screwing and I have this chair sideways, astride the bathub rail. The outer feet are adjusted longer so the chair seat slants slightly into the tub, as when level. I can also make the feet equal length and turn it front facing the faucet, but it actually takes up a lot of room, crowding me forward if standing (gotta get a longer hose for my detachable shower head). The seat is perfect width for a standard tub, a generous width for my butt. The drain holes are smart. It will likely clean easily. The biggest problem I have is figuring out how to create a custom shower curtain. (Those advertised seem inadequate). When I am not using the shower, this chair easily can be slid a few feet one way or the other, and is not obstructive on the outside (my toilet is directly next to the shower, and this chair slides between them).
This stool is strong and durable. Does not wobble in the shower. Best I ever bought. I will probably never have to buy another one. I could stand up on this with no problem. It is a little bigger than the round small ones usually offered but not that much and if this fits in my tub it will fit anywhere.
This shower chair was sturdy and when I had a problem initially, the customer service was quick and got it straightened out with verbal instructions and sending an email illustration. After using it for the required time after a broken leg, it was disassembled quickly and easily stored for any future senior moment foibles.
