The Absolute Sound provides reviews of audio equipment and music recordings from the audiophile perspective: it's all about accurate sound reproduction at a given budget, and the full range of budgets is covered from a few hundred dollars to a hundred thousand dollars or more. It's a great resource, for me, to find the top gear from a while ago (well, not really the top gear, but good gear) that is now available on the used market for a small fraction of its original cost. The writing is excellent and enjoyable, even if I don't always agree with the opinions. Highly recommended.
I love window shopping in this magazine. Generally something of interest to read and good reviews of music as well. Have been a subscriber for several years. I enjoy hi-end audio equipment, because it contributes to my enjoyment of listening to music.
I've been reading this since the eighties, and it remains my favorite subjective audio magazine. It, and Stereophile are the two I read regularly, and that's all I need. If you are an audiophile, you should at least try this magazine/
