Thank you for your explanation of the G-force technology and the possibility of damage during shipping in the order confirmation. Even though mine was NOT damaged during shipping, I appreciate the heads up and the promise of a replacement immediately if it had.
I also appreciate the peace of mind that I will have with this mouthguard when my son plays football-- especially with all of the recent research regarding concussions and contact sports.
I will definitely be a repeat customer!
My son decided to play football last minute and I AM SO THANKFUL for this mouthguard. He has (we think) had a mild concussion in the past from hockey and I am already worried. This mouthguard gives me peace of mind that if he does get a hit we can take proper action. He will be wearing it for all his sports-hockey, lacrosse and now football. Other parents are wanting this for their players. As parents we want to keep them as safe as possible.
Great product purchased for police academy would buy again
Bought this for my grandson who plays football. He says it was easy to fit and comfortable to wear. Great innovative product!
Comfortable

Description
VANE ATHLETIC MOUTH GUARD WITH G-FORCE SENSOR TECHNOLOGY Head injuries often occur in athletes who participate in high impact sports. This includes hockey, football, & lacrosse along with combat sports such as boxing and MMA. VANE Mouth Guards are designed to warn an athlete that a G-force impact of 100 G's or higher has occurred - which may have resulted in a head injury. Using our patent pending "Blunt Force Indication Technology," the indicator within the mouth guard will turn red when it detects an impact of 100 G's or higher. This gives participants, coaches, and parents a visual cue that an athlete should immediately cease playing and seek medical attention, potentially reducing the risk of further injury. Manufactured in the USA with FDA dental grade materials, VANE Mouth Guards are superior to the competition. **WARNING** Injury may occur at impacts significantly lower than 100 G's. VANE mouth guards are not the only indicator that a head or other boldly injury has occurred. They are not a substitute for a medical diagnosis. Users should immediately seek medical attention if experiencing any symptoms of head or other bodily injury even if the mouth guard's indicator has not turned red, or there is no indication that a serious impact has taken place. **NOTE** •Chewing or biting on the Mouth Guard can cause the color changing indicators to be unintentionally activated. •Sensors will arrive half red & half clear. THIS IS NOT A DEFECTIVE UNIT. Please see picture above to accurately see what the sensors will look like when they are both inactivated and activated.
The fit of this mouth guard is better than that of a lot of the "standard" sports mouth guards. It is thicker than a SISU and much better than the mouth guards you can pick up at the box sporting goods stores. The fit is not better than a sports mouth guard molded by a dentist. I do like the G-Force sensor (which, luckily, we have not had to verify if that works or not) as an added safety precaution. The biggest challenge with wearing a mouth guard is being comfortable and being able to speak clearly.
First, if the G-Force sensor technology is not a must-have, I recommended a dentist professionally molded mouth guard. Second, I recommend this over the SISU. The SISU is very thin, and I actually only recommend the SISU for people with braces on their teeth. As far as mouth guards go, this is about as comfortable as they are going to get (aside from a professionally-molded mouth guard). As for the G-Force sensor, I have not tested that feature, so I cannot comment on how well/accurate it works.
Compared to the cheap mouth guards I have used in the past, it is clear how much better made the Vane Mouthguard is. Minus the very small print on the instructions, it was pretty easy to mold the piece to fit my mouth and the sizing is good. The fit is good and while I would not say it or any mouth guard is comfortable to wear, it is not terrible and certainly the security it provides outweighs any discomfort that is natural to having any type of mouth guard. As I said, it is clearly of better quality than other mouth guards I have purchased. It says it is dental grade and it certainly seems so and more. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is that I have not taken any shots to the face or head so fortunately I have not had to test out the technology here. This mouth guard has a "G-Force" sensor that will activate when it senses an impact. As a parent of a kid who did Tae Kwon Do for many years and as someone who has done kickboxing and light sparring this is a very comforting technology to have. Indicators on the mouth guard will change color if an impact is detected. Again, since I have not taken a head shot or been hit in the face while wearing this, I have no personal experience to evaluate the effectiveness of this technology, so that is why I am not adding that 5th star. Hopefully, I will not have that first hand experience. But again, knowing this technology is there and knowing how well made this mouth guard is, it certainly gives me piece of mind and a good sense of security. If my kid goes back to sparring, I will certainly get another of these pieces. Other than having no direct way to measure the technology involved here, my only real critique is that the print on the shaping instructions are very small and hard to read. This guard is a big win in terms of giving you some much needed extra protection when doing martial arts, boxing, or other contact sports.
I don't play sports but I do use a mouth guard every single night of my life, otherwise, I grind my teeth so bad, that I have broken 3 teeth in one night. So, I started using dental guards that were very expensive from my dentists. They didn't last. I chewed through them. Now, I wear a sports mouth guard because they last longer and do the job as well if not better than any of the other mouth guards from my dentists. I have yet to chew through a sports guard. Now, I know I will not need to G-Force Sensor Technology, so that part does not pertain to me, but for parents of kids who play sports, it is a must. With all of the medical reports on concussions, they have found that even kids are getting damage. They may not get a full blown concussion, but they do get brain trauma. I will keep using mine as a guard.
This was used for sparring. It sits well, but with a small mouth it did have to be cut in the back. It’s good quality and it fit well and cut down easily so there was that - and it never turned red - so that’s always good. We usually purchase her mouth guards through her instructors - but like to replace at least every 3 months at the longest. We usually pay about $10 for them, so this is a great investment for a mouth guard. If she was into more contact sport this might be a routine investment. Once she moves up in rank we probably will.
Overall, it’s a good mouth piece. Especially for peace of mind if you are worried about head injuries.
This is like a standard mouth guard that you personalize the fit by 1st submerging into boiling water for at least 60 seconds, fit in mouth, then quickly rinse under cold water to set it.
This differs as it has a texture on both sides where it rests upon the bottom teeth when wearing.
It has an feature to provide extra shock absorbing when needed during any impact sport.
Comes in a portable pkg.
As with any mouth guards, once you shape it to fit you it takes a little getting use to before it becomes 2nd nature.
If you have anyone in your family who engages in rough contact sports this item is a must have. Protect those teeth.
I received this item free in exchange for my unbiased review.
