Nerf Zombie Strike ZED Squad Longshot CS-12 Blaster

I got this Nerf gun for my man for father's Day from the kiddos because they have Nerf gun fights weekly and he's such a kid at heart, so we got him his very own. My son is super jealous and had trouble keeping a secret but he did it! I will surprise him with his own Zombie Long shoot for Christmas. We have about 15 guns and everyone now wants this one. It comes with a magazine to load up to 12 bullets. The shots do not hurt anymore than any other Nerf gun so that is awesome! The scope is amazing and works lovely! Daddy and the kiddos are in love. Product is in great condition. I saw similar at stores for double the price. This is worth every penny and every smile.

(This review comes directly from my college-aged Boy #1, a long-time Nerf connoisseur.)
This Nerf blaster is a re-shell of my favorite Nerf blaster of all time. While the performance is slightly under today's Elite standards, it is still a fun, enjoyable, and extremely mod-able blaster. While the gun does not feature the Longshot front gun of old, it is not missed. My main complaint is the placement of the front bi-pod, especially when the bi-pod deployed. With the bi-pod extended, my hand wants to naturally go right in front of the magazine will under the gun. This makes holding the blaster difficult and somewhat awkward if your arm naturally wants to go to the front of the barrel. However, with the advent of 3-D printing, a quick solution can be easily made or purchased.
My other complaint with the blaster is the absence of two plastic inserts on either side of the magazine well that makes loading and unloading faster and smoother. However, to the casual Nerfer, I do not believe this will be a problem. The included 12-round magazine features a transparent side, so your remaining darts can be counted quickly at a glance in the heat of battle. The included scope, although not functioning, adds a nice cosmetic look and "sniper" feel to the blaster.
Now on to the mechanics. The Longshot's plunger system is largely hailed (by me at least) as one of the best ever in Nerf's history, and the bolt action is extremely fun to cycle and send foam flying.

I am a ten year old boy. I just got this gun yesterday and so far it's been an awesome gun. At first the scope was a little hard to slide on and off, but once I got the hang of it, it worked fine. Actually, this review is four and a half stars because the top of the bullets got ripped off of three already, and I don't know if it was because the bullets were weak, or the gun tore them up without me knowing. The gun has only gotten jammed once in all the times that I used it when me and my dad went "dinosaur hunting." The gun is a little bigger than I expected it to be (a good thing!). It is twenty six inches and twelve sixteenths long, but if you shorten it, which you can by clicking a button forward and sliding the back grey part of the gun forward, it is twenty three inches and twelve sixteenths. The gun is thirteen inches high counting the scope and the magazine. Without the magazine and the scope the height is five inches and thirteen sixteenths. The gun can also use extra zombie strike bullets, of course. I haven't tried it with elite bullets or any other color bullet. (Sometimes that matters.) The scope is really good. Sometimes the darts go a little under where you are aiming, or to the side a little bit, and some other times it's just right. THIS NERF GUN IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!! IF YOU WANT A GOOD GUN GET THIS ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I bought this for my 7 year old. The gun is very easy for him to cock and shoot. It is a little big for him, but he loves it.

First let me start with my "I'm not a paid reviewer by any manufacturer or Amazon.. anything I review it's because I've paid for it myself & it's my own personally experience. I do A LOT of amazon shopping, & my reason for picking certain things are always due to helpful reviews so even though this is time consuming, I want to do the same for others.

Bought these for my nephews for Christmas and they love them great price

This is a beautiful weapon. It was my primary weapon for a themed (Borderlands) nerf war. It works well for long range fighting, especially with a long range barrel upgrade. Now...yes, it jams. BUT...c'mon, people, get to know your weapon! Shoot it enough to find out what makes it jam. If it does jam, take a deep breath and clear it. It's NOT difficult.

This is the Grandfather of the Nerf line's direct plunger system, and CS (clip system; which means it is magazine-fed for those who care). It really sucks stock, so it is only for people who like to mod (modify; take apart, change, put back together), or are capable of fixing things up with a lot of attention to detail (Google Longshot Modification, or watch some on YouTube). You could buy one of these at Target though, as it is usually way overpriced online. This blaster is a newer plastic-molded duplicate of it, just that this one is a different color and lacking the magazine guides the original Longshot had in it's magazine well. As a plus, also missing from the original is the flawed front bi-pod. I lightly modded my original Longshot that I got off of EBay by adding a Big Bad Bow spring and I took the air restrictor out (it fires darts 112 feet per second on my ProChrono Digital chronograph). I have seen YouTube videos of modifications on this newer version using the Orange Mod Works upgrade kit and also have a cousin who had installed both stage 1 and 2 kits in it with mixed results. Although stronger, he claims that it has occasional jamming. It is worth noting that my OMW spring upgraded Longshots (including this Zombie model) work decently well, and jammed primarily due to imperfections in old worn darts and user error.

Works smoothly and of course the quality is great has only jammed once and my jewphew is rough on stuff.

The scope is only for decoration. You can see through its but not accurate. You can take it off which is great. This is still a lot of fun. Love the reloadable clip. Big "hit" for Nerf wars.
