I took this to SE Asia with me for a month of ESL teaching. It was great to make students think and learn to speak in complete sentences. I had lots of opportunity to elicit definitions from them. Once they understood what the phrasal verb meant, I had them use it in several sentences to strengthen their understanding and memory. The accompanying book has many good games to use depending on the level of your students. This has become a valuable tool for my weekly class here in the US too.
I just started using the card game in my class. The students like it and the cards promoted vocabulary use and much conversation.
'Phrase It' is fantastic! People don't learn languages by studying ABOUT them, we learn languages by USING them. 'Phrase It' is a simple, exciting card game that has students engage in English in fun, authentic ways. Teams for Novices, individually for Advanced...
The other games in the booklet that came with my Phrase It cards were an unexpected BONUS.
Great ideas. Great games. Great fun. Great opportunities for learners.
