Excellent product. There are many benefits of eating gelatin for both humans and animals. The large packages are great! I use this to make fresh fruit juice gummy bears and add it to my dogs homemade dog food. It is a natural source of glucosamine and condroiten. It can also be used to make a hot drink(add some pomegranate juice to hot water).

The collagen protein is a requirement to keep my knees, hips and ankles functioning. Degenerative joint disease, also called osteoarthritis, runs strongly in my family. Both my parents suffer from it, as do I. When I use a scoop a day of Knox in my coffee, my joint pain is minimal. If I run out or skip the collagen supplement, after a couple months I get severe, sharp, shocks of pain where weight bearing bone meets bone. Returning to the regime of a scoop a day takes several weeks to rebuild my own joint collagen to the point of being painlessly functional again. I've been using Nutrajoint, and now regular Knox, for about 10 years.
I really enjoyed the NutraJoint supplement Knox had out for a while, mostly because it didn't gel if your coffee cooled a bit. This stuff retains all the gelling power of your childhood Jello, and then some. If your dosed coffee cools before you've finished it, expect to have to microwave your cup to finish a portion. I'm only taking off a star because the doesn't-gel version was nicer to work with. This, if you dump an entire scoopful at a time into hot water, clumps up into a slow-dissolving blob. You need to sprinkle some in, stir, sprinkle in more, stir, and so on to keep from getting gelatine clumps.
My mom and dad are amazed I don't have problems with my joints on a daily basis. My sister has had a hip replacement, my mother, hip and knee replacements. I keep up with my Knox, and count my blessings.
For a year I used this product to control -- even subdue! -- the developing osteoarthritis in my hands. That was about 15 years ago. Before then, over several decades my arthritis slowly advanced until I could no longer stand the pain, especially in my right hand. I finally reached the point where I actually asked my doctor if a surgeon could remove my most painful finger. Naturally he thought I was nuts, but I had to ask. Then, in approximately 2001, I heard that taking this product once a day might help my condition. After several months of using 2 to 3 tablespoons daily mixed in water, the horrific pain I had experienced for so long was virtually gone. Others I've shared this information with over the years were similarly helped. I made this current purchase not for myself, but for a co-worker who is suffering from developing osteoarthritis in various joints for the past 2 years. Hopefully unflavored gelatin will help him as much as it helped me. Time will tell, though. In the meantime, if you are thinking about using unflavored gelatin to help your arthritic condition, I suggest you first consult with your doctor. I have no idea if using this or a similar product with certain medical conditions might be unwarranted. I would think not, seeing this is a main ingredient of Jello. But who knows, certainly not me? I'm an engineer, not a doctor, and nave no medical training whatsoever. By the way, you'll find tons of information concerning the use of this product to help arthritis on the Internet, and even in user's comments on Amazon.

This stuff has been a friend of the family for many years. It keeps our connective tissues in our joints moving well, and performed nothing less that a miracle in my year old Rottweiler's hip dysplasia. The vet told me that only surgery would enable her to have a normal life, and that was never guaranteed. I should add that I tried glucosamine with no success. He recommended that within the next year she'd need to be euthanized. I had just begun using gelatine for my back, as I had begun feeling the bones in my spine grinding against one another. I went to a chiropractor who told me simply that it was degenerative, and that nothing could be done. Stretching was the only recommendation. my mother had been taking is for her knees with good results and I decided to try it. Long story short~~ both my back and the dog's hips were good as new in about 2 months. WHat more can I say?? We all use it daily~~dogs and people.

I have been following a Paleo/Ketogenic diet for 5+ years. I have know about the benefits of gelatin for many years and often gotten my from eating meat on the bone and making home made bone broth. However, I didn't feel like I was getting enough in my diet. Then I read about supplementing with unflavored gelatin. There are other brands out there that are organic and are produced from grass fed animals, which in some ways may be of higher quality. However, these other brands are more than double the cost for the same amount. I understand that organic grass fed is more expensive to produce, but I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who just can't afford to spend that much money for gelatin supplementation. I am giving Knox brand gelatin 5 stars because you get a high quality gelatin for a great price. I was buying the 1 oz boxes from my local discount grocery store for $1.58 each, when I do the math on this deal (including shipping) it comes to about $.89 per oz. What a great deal, especially considering I take a heaping table spoon every day.
Awesome. it does have a bit of a beefy smell but does not affect the taste of what it is used to make. My jello made with orange juice, and grape juice etc came out beautifully flavor delicious. Some will say dissolve it in cold water just mix it real fast which takes forever because you have to do it in small amounts, however from my experience hot liquid is faster easier and better, but to each they're own

I take a tablespoon of this daily in my smoothie and it has dramatically reduced the amount of arthritis in my shoulder. More people should be told about this easy fix for arthritis. Give it 1-3 months used daily. This is a lot cheaper than buying the boxes of gelatin at the grocery store with 4 packets that don't go very far. Just make sure you immediately drink the smoothie as this is gelatin and will make it thick quickly. I also clean my blender and sink immediately afterwards.
I usually don't write but this product can help to the people that was hurt by fluoroquinolones, I take one tea spoon in a glass of water before bed because it make me sleepy, it help me with the horrible muscle and tendons pain and mental fog, , reason why I write is because I also try bone broth and this bone broth powder make have mental fog , but this gelatin no, it is helping me a lot in my recovery from being poison with ciprofloxacin.
I really like these new canisters and 1lb of gelatin goes a long way. I use at least 2 tbls of this per day mixed with food and have noticed much better movement in every joint during the past few months so I'm okay with incorporating this in my diet permanently.
