This worked great for my Olympus TG3. I was afraid the camera might be too heavy for it, but it wasn't. The included adapter is very handy to secure more than just a gopro to the grip. There's nothing extraordinary about it, but it works great for what it is.
Nice floating handle. FasT shipping
Perfect grip! Use it when going to the beach!
Somewhat hard to get the tabs to fit into place with the lightdow ld6000. Still works great once it is
I had seen people using little handheld GoPro mounts here & there, but never thought anything of it, and had continued to use my own GoPro in a purely "hand-held" manner on my (SCUBA) dives - just holding the camera housing in my gloves. I got decent enough shots I thought, with some shakiness even when "being totally smooth" (ha!) with my movements. And sometimes I would drop the camera and have to dive down to fish it out of the sand and algae.
I recently got this little gadget and I think it's really helpful. It makes hand movements through the water much smoother, and much easier to aim. It also floats, which is a super plus for boaters/kayakers/snorkelers (- but maybe slightly less of a plus for divers, especially if you've got some depth & current to deal with). The wide barrel shape is easy to grip steadily, and even with thick gloves fits nicely in your hand. Some texturing of the handle might give a better grip though, maybe a slightly knurled texture like a pistol-grip, but that's a minor issue - it didn't slip out of my hand or anything. (I might use a couple little strips of skateboard griptape in the future.)
Overall, a useful and inexpensive accessory for handheld watersports (or seaside) videos.

Full disclosure: I received this product for free in exchange for my honest, unbiased review.
I have several GoPro accessories, including an extendable selfie stick and a tray with handles. They both work great for snorkeling and scuba diving, but fall short when it comes to watersports and casual use. I used the Action Cam Floating Hand Grip Mount at a pool party over the weekend, and it was absolutely perfect for taking fun video in and out of the water. Because it floats, we could leave the camera and mount in the pool, and it was extremely visible due to its orange color. I wouldn't hesitate to buy this camera mount for outdoor activities like rafting, tubing, or even snorkeling. It's compact and lightweight, and seems durable and like it would travel well.
I received your Float Grip today and attached it to my wife's GoPro Hero 3+ Silver Edition. Both my wife and I thought your Float Grip is a worthwhile and necessary accessory for her GoPro!
Evaluation:
Float Grip: Lightweight, great feel, buoyant enough to keep the handle several inches out of the water, vibrant color to be seen if left on the boat/dock/room or if floating on the surface.
Tripod Screw Adapter: I used it to mount the GoPro on top of my DSLR underwater housing.
Mount Screw: The mount screw is easier to use than the shorter GoPro mount screw.
Wrist Strap: Excellent design of adjustable locking device to secure the wrist strap!
One to Three Year Warranty: Nice. But when registering the product, on page 3, there was not an option in "Brand" for Hero or GoPro.
This is my review of the USA Gear action cam floating grip mount. I use a lot of different kinds of mounts and pole cam extensions when using an action cam. My experience is limited to the Gopro line of cameras and the Kodak SP 360, although I am sure other small cameras would also work with this mount.
A mount of this design has certain advantages over just holding the camera.
It is more secure, especially with the included lanyard. You get a more secure grip on a handle design than trying to hold a boxy camera. You are also more likely to be able to hold it steady. You even get a little bit more reach with this kind of mount. It is perfect for holding over your head in a crowd and other similar situations.
It is designed to float so if you accidentally drop it in the water you haven't lost your expensive action cam. It is a very bright color so if you have to go back and find it you will easily see it.
So how did the review go? It went very well! I decided to put it though more abuse than it is advertised to be able to take. My first configuration was a Gopro Hero 3 with the LCD back and the Light and Motion Sidekick Flood underwater light attached. This combination makes a fairly heavy rig in action cam standards. The Hero 3 in a housing comes in at 4.8 ounces but my configuration with the LCD back and Sidekick video light weighs in at around 11.5 ounces, or nearly 3/4 lb.
I took this setup scuba diving and first noticed that the device was buoyant enough to float even with my added accessories. I found it comfortable to hold and the lanyard seemed very secure so I could let go of the rig and use my hands for other things during the dive. My dive went to a maximum depth of 130 ft, which is the accepted safe diving limit and this mount performed perfectly throughout the dive. One thing I noticed was that because it is a rigid design and the hollow body of the mount was not able to compress, its buoyancy never changed. It was positively buoyant thought the dive, which would really come in handy if you accidentally let go of the camera when the lanyard wasn't around your wrist.
The mount grip package comes with a standard 1/4X20 adapter so you can attach other types of cameras to it. I decided to push the limits again by attaching a full sized DSLR to it instead of the recommended mini action cams. I attached my Canon 70D with the 40mm STM lens attached. This weighed in at just a hair under 2 lbs. I handled the camera in many different positions and wiggled it around quite a bit to see if it would securely hold the camera and it did, but I was left with the impression that a camera of this size was on the far limit of what this mount could handle over time, and therefore recommend sticking with the cameras suggested in the description. You should never have a problem using small, lightweight cameras.
Probably the highest marks I would give this piece of equipment would be the price. Of course you may be able to find a more rugged mount, but for the cost I doubt you will be able to get as many features.
Great idea. I got my floating hand grip mount a few days ago and tried it with go pro and other light underwater cameras. I loved it. Aside from the convenient handle it gives your camera extra buoyancy and visibility. It looks like it will save my camera some day.
Never tried the handle with the snow however; I presume it will be useful there as well.
The tripod adapter is compatible with all cameras. For the peace of mind i would attach the wrist grip to the camera itself.
Heading out in two days for some surf photography in Fiji and looking forward to using the action cam grip for my GoPro. The grip is the perfect size for when you are out in the waves trying to get the shot. It comes with a wrist strap but if for some reason it should get away from you, the color and the fact that it floats makes it much easier to find. Brilliant in its simplicity.
